The recruits
Watched two games in the Gonzaga DC Classic. Gonzaga (with Jared Turner) versus Charlotte Christian....and Saint Andrews (with Masai Troutman) versus Saint John's Prep. If you Google the name of the tourney it will take you to the YouTube streams.
Gonzaga is a good team with a lot of good players. They cracked the top twenty (#18) last week. I counted six shots for Jared....one wire to wire layup to seal the game for Gonzaga and three for five from three.....one of the made threes was just before his late breakaway. Seems like a smart player...on out of bounds plays he always threw the ball in. Gonzaga plays #nine Saint Francis in the finals later today.
Saint Andrews also won. After seeing each of the recruits (only one time) Troutman was the one I was most impressed with. Physically, he will look like Walter Whyte in college and he defends, rebounds and scores. Our two other recruits were three stars but it'easy to see why Troutman got the most, by far, power five offers.

RE: The recruits
Troutman is the better player between the two. But Cormier is the best recruit out of the 3.
I will check out the game now that I have time on my hands.

Speaking of Cormier, Milton is scheduled to play Camden on January 17th on one of the ESPNs. Camden is rated #three among high schools. Milton was preseason #two but they lost two starters to prison.

RE: The recruits
Gonzaga wins by three. They will be moving up from their 18th spot in the polls.
Turner hit an early long three but went cold and didn'take a shot in the second half but otherwise played a strong game with three steals, three blocks, took a charge, some creative passing and much more intensity than yesterday..

Gonzaga High School moves to number eight in the country. They play in the Les Schawb tourney in Oregon this weekend.
Box scores are few and far between but I saw a tweet that said Troutman had twenty two points in one of his Gonzaga Classic games last weekend.

RE: The recruits
Milton is playing in the City of Palms Classic this week. They won their first game yesterday by twenty-three but round two on Monday will be tougher against Calvary Christian. Cormier had an off shooting game and will have to get back on track against CC. The tourney does a great job with stats including full box scores for all games.

RE: The recruits
Milton beat Calvery Christian by five. Cormier bounced back with nineteen points, five rebounds (four of them offensive) and rwo steals. Next stop is tomorrow's semis. Unfortunately, that is likely the end of the road for them because their opponent will probably be Montverde.

RE: The recruits
Montverde killed Milton 59-44. Milton's starting five played the whole game. Cormier, who is the third best player on the team, behind Thornton who is an OSU commit and jr Carlyle who can go anywhere he wants was held to eight points while the other two each got twelve. Playing Montverde is not fun. Third place game is tomorrow.

Milton lost to IMG Academy 76-73. Cormier had 12 points.
Ohio State definitely got a good one in Thornton.

RE: The recruits
All things considered, Milton did well against two of the top prep schools in the country. Next up is the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach starting on Monday. Looks like there will be box scores, live stats and streaming but it's hard to tell if the streaming will be free.

Just watched a few minutes of game one. Milton is in game four at 8:30. Just go to the Beach Ball Classic then click on watch live and scroll down to the area below the scheduled games. Streaming quality was good and there are announcers.

RE: The recruits
Twenty points for Chase in the opener. He didn't shoot that well from three but was at fifty percent overall from the field.

RE: The recruits
Milton won again. Tonight they play for the championship. This is their third trip to this tourney snd having won their last two times they will be trying to keep their record of never losing a game.intact.
Chase had ten points...all in the first half...along with six rebounds. The second half was close and the Thornton/Carlyle duo took most of the shots. The best part of his game last night was his defense. He is catlike quick and he guarded the other team's primary ballhandler who did not get close to driving past him all game long.

RE: The recruits
Milton's dependence on Carlyle was exposed today when he had a bad game. He got thirteen points but he needed sixteen shots to get them. He wasn't hitting but he kept forcing and shooting. Dribbling into crowds caused four TO's. They lost because their opponent played great team offense and defense.
Chase led the team in scoring with sixteen points, including some nice drives to the hoop. He played the entire game.
I love watching our recruits play and will continue to do so but if no one else cares I won't bother posting.

I actually like the updates. I try and watch when I can but have not been able to over the past few weeks. Always nice to have an eye on the future and compare what others think to what I am seeing

Okay, I'll PM you when I see that games for one of the recruits are streaming or if there are box scores.
