Question is would the SWAC be okay with that? I mean there isn't another football option for UAPB at this moment except maybe the SLC as an affiliate. I know it's dangerous but if Murray State leaves and UAPB put their football in the OVC that would give them 6 FB teams keeping them alive a little longer.

If the OVC is closing up shop with football, Tennessee State affiliating with the SWAC is logical

If letting UAPB helps the OVC close up shop in football then it's a win win

UAPB is a poor school right now. Traveling to Daytona Beach is hurting them big time. Little Rock and SE Missouri State are closer to them than the Louisiana pair. It could be more of a move for all sports to try and save money on travel.

Yeah, except their fans don't give a crap about playing those teams versus the traditional SWAC HBCU opponents.

Anyone have any thoughts on where UTA will go? They seem to be holding out hope for the MVC but I don’t know that the Valley reciprocates the love.

UAPB is the logical assumption since they are already in D-1, and I don't see any reason for Central Arkansas to leave the A-Sun. But I also can't see UAPB leaving the SWAC to play opponents that none of their fans care about. The revenue loss will be a lot more than the cost savings.

Hum the OVC and SWAC may be swapping UAPB and Tennessee State.

SWAC definitely wins such a trade.

If they could keep football in the ASun and UALR comes on board, the OVC might work well for UCA Olympics

I don't think the FL/AL/GA schools would miss those trips.

As long as football can be taken care of in the ASun it.might work well

What are you even talking about? UAPB hasn't even traveled to Daytona Beach. The things that you just make up and throw out on this board are downright amazing sometime.

No surprise. Adding UALR stretches the OVC footprint and doesn't help resolve its football problem, but at this point the conference isn't in a position to be picky.

I think the MVC, at least the privates in the conference, do reciprocate the interest to some degree. Seems like they want schools in big media markets to try and recruit students.
