If we're 23.5 point underdogs, I'm putting everything I own on us.

Reading their message board, they need to be a little more confident.

NDSU would be a 24 Favorite at home vs Vanderbilt according to my chart

I predict this game will be like 2019 NDSU vs Nicholls playoff quaterfinal game.

it was like 14-13 NDSU in 3Q hard nosed game, and NDSU scored to make it 37-13 final.

NDSU fans are confident all the time, 146-12 w 8 titles and 12 current NFL players does that to a guy..... sorry. but it's been this way since 2011 , can't change it now

You all have certainly earned the right/honor of feeling pretty confident. In spades. You all clearly have *the* program in I-AA (what I still call it). And you may not realize it, but ETSU fans (the knowledgeable ones, of which there are many) are fully hep to that. But it reminds me a bit of "Da Bearz" sketches on SNL. Just a little too much mustard there.

We are under no illusion that you all don't have a superior team. But..........unlike some of your posters................we're also under no illusion that Texas BBQ is superior to what we have around here. I know, I know - it's somewhat about what you're used to. You all just don't know no better, as we say around here. 05-stirthepot

I know, I know..............it's kinda hard to brag on shale oil - but come on - Texas is almost as far away as the hills of TN. How about some love for Lakota and Mandan culture, or something like that? And by the way..............I loves me some bison meat. Great stuff all around.

might be warm friday/Saturday for you guys. 30s!!!
was -3 last night.

NDSU players are very humble & work very hard & understand the game plan on the field. great group of young men.

we expect some ETSU fight no doubt.

we will still be missing our NFL prospecr WR Christian Watson for this game & Dominic Gonnella RB . NFL TE prospect 6 7 235 Noah Gindorff is OUT for year now too

The confidence is very much warranted. Is there a particular reason why NDSU is still in FCS? You have NFL talent every year and the Fargo Dome is an acceptable FBS venue imo. We used to be in the same conference as App State and Georgia Southern, who have since propelled their football successes to the FBS.

There is no viable path to the FBS for us for a variety of geographical and political reasons.

Move up to FBS and very likely NDSU continues having success — but never another National Title in football to go with your amazing 16. Have you all received invites to move up? Has the MVFC looked at taking the entire league to FBS?

Hey Bucs fans. Not sure if you enjoy the media coverage that the Bison do. You may enjoy giving a listen to Fargo 1660 am for the next couple of days. Good show on right now from 12:00-2:00 your time.

No known invites. Fair amount of displeasure among a subset of the faithful in this regard that the administration is not (publicly) doing enough to attract one. Unknown what efforts the MVFC might have underway, if any.

Well, we get some decent exposure here, but ETSU has traditionally been more of a hoops school. (As well as tennis, baseball, and X-country; but not at all ignoring football.) I don't know how to say this kindly, so please don't take offense..........but I think our interests are more diverse here. And I'm speaking just for myself. There are attractions and features of this area aplenty, other than ETSU sports. Now if ETSU had won some large number of national titles in I-AA football, would it be different? Some, sure, but I don't think it would be as pronounced as it is up there. To put a finer point on it.......................around here, we're only 100 miles from Knoxville, and so much of the eastern 2/3 of this state is "eat up with" all things Big Orange. It's really an obsession with some, and I think some of us see that as distasteful. Who cares how many days 'til kickoff in March? Who cares what the QB's girlfriend's dog's name is? That last one may be an exaggeration, but only slight. Certainly NDSU isn't the same, but, as I posted earlier, it seems a bit like "Da Bearz" in its over-the-top-ness.

We admire your success........but (again, speaking only for myself).........I just don't think I'd *want* to be that much wrapped up in anything sports-related. And I'm a pretty big sports fan - and have attended ETSU sports events for well over 50 years. Bleed blue and gold, as they say (and I suspect you all can substitute green and gold up there).

So I listened a bit to the link - 2 segments, and they were an extended interview over the phone from one of your former coaches (I think) from LA. And then an phone interview with an ESPN(?) broadcaster talking about the Dome there. Just more granularity there than I care for. Again, no disrespect intended. Whatsoever.

NDST is better than Vandy. The SoCon teams are nowhere close to the teams NDST plays and beats on a regular basis. They compete every year for the FCS championship and have won nearly every year. NDST is, year out and year out, the best in class of FCS programs. That's why the line is -23. It's definitely earned.

Ha - sorry the radio segments were not interesting for you. Going to be hit and miss for sure. There will be segments where they break down ETSU and/or speak to the HC, etc. But it sure won't be for every palate.

While no offense is taken if I may let me caution you about being mindful of your assumptions. I'm sure you have plentiful distractions there in Appalachia as I do here 15 minutes from a very large metro not named Fargo. I would bet that the good folks up the road from you in Harrisonburg also enjoy many varied interests as well yet they sport a fanbase just as rabid as that of NDSU. Might be extended success that does that. Just a guess.

Also, while I do not live near Fargo now I did live there at one time and visit there annually and I can assure you that they have a multitude of varied interests there as well. Out in the wide expanse of the great plains a 100 mile drive is something one might do for lunch. One way.

Anyway, best of luck to the Bucs in this contest. I think our fanbase is excited to see a new opponent travel to the Fargodome and bring their best. Let's hope we have an exciting game and injuries are minimal or nil.

Cheers.

Here is NDSU's playoff trailer celebrating having home-field advantage. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...Cz4rsnFe0S

Just a good trailer...figuring some may enjoy even though being the opponent.

Glad no offense taken. And......to a significant extent, it's just "different strokes for different folks". While I've only flown over N.D., I have spent 'real' time in Eastern Montana, and Wyoming, so I kinda know what it's like. Big Sky country has a definite charm, but gosh I couldn't take it full-time. Harrisonburg is a decent enough town, and I know that campus. Got some friends who live there. And altho I'm aware of their fandom, just based on what I know, I don't think they're as fully immersed as you all seem to be.
Thank you for your considered and thoughtful reply. 04-cheers

GFBison,
I might add that the biggest religion in Tennessee is UT football. We are also only 120 miles from Virginia Tech so our nearby Virginia neighbors are hard to sell on ETSU football.

I saw that rumor, but think the espn app is messed up.

NDSU is a regional school , over 50% of students are Minnesota & pulls from Minneapolis 3.5 hours away

NDSU IS 45 Miles from about 1000 amazing Lakes in Minnesota

Back to the game, NDSU and it's stubborn OC will run run and run the ball some more.
