RE: B12 Bowl Games
If B12 can hold most of those bowls we will be good going forward.

The Gasparilla bowl will be big for UCF, as we get the chance to take down the state flagship and improve our perception in the state. Even though it is a down uf team, it’ll still be seen as a big win for us, and will certainly help with recruiting. We have a lot of players hurt but it should be a fun one.

The sad thing is that the Gators and SEC folks will just claim that Florida wasn’t motivated and in the midst of a coaching change and write off UCF’s accomplishment.

RE: B12 Bowl Games
Guessing and speculating is the fun of a sports board.

My guess is that the Big-12 could lose the Sugar Bowl with the SEC retaining the bowl. The opponent in the Sugar Bowl will be left open in order to get the highest rated opponent possible. The SEC/Sugar Bowl will always know that the Big-12 in the future would accept an invite. If such an arrangement was in existence this year, Sugar Bowl would probably invite Notre Dame.

On the other hand, with that task of arranging strong bowls in a now 16 team SEC conference, I don't think SEC would care to give up its bowl with the highest rated team from a P5 conference. The B12 with Cincinnati, Baylor, and Oklahoma State has shown the B12 remains strong, and compares favorably against PAC and ACC.

If the Big-12 loses the Sugar Bowl, my second guess is that the Fiesta Bowl could become a bowl for the Big-12 replacing the Sugar Bowl. Most years, I am guessing, the Fiesta Bowl would be a Big-12/PAC match up. I would think the Fiesta Bowl folks would like the position of having an annual agreement with a P5 conference.

With Houston, TCU, Baylor, and Texas Tech in the conference, one would think the B12 would retain all of its bowls located in Texas.

Picking up the Sun Bowl versus the PAC would be nice over the Independence Bowl. The Independence Bowl is now less than stellar. i have visited El Paso and it is much more interesting and fun than Shreveport which I also have visited. I would prefer attending the First Responders Bowl in Dallas or Military Bowl in Ft. Worth over the Independence Bowl in Shreveport. Moving the First Responders Bowl to the Globe Life Park would be vastly superior to Independence Bowl.

If this PAC/B1G/ACC cooperative agreement becomes strong, it may be the SEC is willing to work with the B12 on bowl agreements in order to maintain some sort of leverage against PAC/B1G/ACC cooperative agreement.

And if the 12 team national playoff comes into being, it makes any existing NY6 bowl arrangement invalid.

Who knows? I suppose we will have all our answers within the next 12 months.
