I honestly can't think of any time our conference commissioner has made a public statement about officiating before.

There's a lot of articles and comments about the officiating at the end of both halves. Apparently the end of 1st half the CC player was tackled in bounds and the reds added time to the clock allowing them to kick a FG.

With the time remaining, there was a mechanical error in how the clock was managed. The center judge should have been allowed to clear the line of scrimmage before the clock was started.”

CUSA refs f***ed up?

I’m shocked. Shocked, I say.

They know this is such a disingenuous discussion, because it’s all a moot point due to the fact that it was an incomplete pass and was a turnover on downs.

The game was over at that point.
The play should've absolutely been reviewed. I think it was incomplete as well. The ref's bad mishandling was all caused by the placer, clock handler etc trying to process everything in warp speed. This could've all been handled better by stopping/slowing the game. If NIU had won, the argument would've been flipped to the NIU player not even really having control of the ball, and why it wasn't reviewed. I was initially mad at them even calling that a catch.

I did not see other views but what I saw looked 100% like an incomplete pass and I do not think it was close. Never want to see a bad call change a game, luckily it did not happen in this case.

This. Game was over right there. Why that play wasn't reviewed is beyond me. Game was over right there.

Weirdest ending I've ever seen to a bowl game, and kind of anticlimactic, but I'll take it.

Watching your young team, you reminded me very much of ULL’s teams over the past 2 years. That of course means you’d very likely cut App State’s ass like ULL has. We jumped out to a 14-0 lead on them and were an onside kick away from kicking their teeth in too, but we blew it. But yeah, having played both, you guys are better than them and when your teams gets another year or two experience, you’re going to be the class of the G5 most likely. So good game and good luck in the future. Your guy Hammock has absolutely got you moving in the right direction again. Not sure what his wishes are or how his health is, but I could see him doing big things in the future

Thanks for the sentiments. Hammock is an alumnus and received a contract extension 3-4 weeks ago. NIU fans are hopeful we can actually keep him around and not have to worry about him leaving for more money unlike our last three coaches. Although the head coach before Hammock we are grateful to Temple for taking off our hands.

RE: Coastal Carolina VS NIU In Cure Bowl
Did any of the Coastal fans who went to the game take any pictures of the NIU side of the stadium? Curious how many fans we had since NIU announced we sold our ticket allotment but gave no indication as to how many tickets that was. Also, the upper level section I was on was full but I couldn't see sections further across from us or the field level sections below us.

If any Coastal fans want to see your side of the stadium I posted pictures on our message board.

RE: Coastal Carolina VS NIU In Cure Bowl
Congrats CCU! The last play may or may have not been botched but who knows if NIU was going to score on the next play anyways. To me it was a catch then a clear football move up the field it only comes out when he tries to get out of bounds. The ref was right there to see it. The clock was started at the right time as it was goal to go and no chains needed to be reset. Plenty of calls in the game that went against CCU and could have led to scores eventually as well or ended NIU scoring drives. The unsportsmanlike calls can always be called on both teams.

Still don’t think it was a catch. Fun game and congrats on the win.
