Would love to see Michigan lose and Notre dame slide in at 4. That would set up rematches from last year. Bama/Notre Dame, Cincy/UGA.

But ..... I was told for years around here (not by you, BTW) that the Committee would NEVER put a G5 team in the playoff. Never, Nada, etc.

And I always said, under the right circumstances ....

LOL. :)

Yep that’s the only way I don’t see Bama vs Cincy in round 1

For all of those who swore UC couldn’t make it, cheers...glass ceiling officially broken. Now to win another game or two.

And then a good chance for a rematch from this season in the championship game; Bama vs. Georgia or (better yet) Cincinnati vs. Notre Dame. Cincinnati vs. Notre Dame would be so full of storylines I think the Tom Rinaldi/Bob Costas types would have to see a doctor for their 4-hour erections.

I called cincy getting in after the first cfp poll. Not out of reach for anyone, just have to have sustained success.

Should I pull up all of your posts the past couple weeks on this board and the expansion board about how UC wouldn’t make it?03-lmfao

Yeah, ol' Quo was consistent at that. Schedule...schedule...schedule...conference...conference...conference...blah...blah...blah. Meanwhile, enjoy USF and Georgetown.

I'm not sure I ever said Cincy wouldn't make it. So if you can find such a post I'd like to see it. I have said I didn't think they should make it, which is two different things.

But given OK State's loss today, they probably deserve to make it. Will check the computers tomorrow morning. I usually abide by them in the end.

So Cincy is gonna go into the Big XII and be the only team to have made the playoffs from that conference...

Needed a LOT of domino's though. They all happened to fall

You could argue that Cincy got in by an inch this year. Who knows what would have happened if that Oklahoma state running back got the ball an inch farther

RE: CFP playoffs
The Cartel will be sure to rank the non Cartel teams further back in the polls and move them up more slowly going forward. UC earned it with the convincing win over Notre Dame.

The bad news is it will be even harder for the AAC and G4 teams to get any H&H deals or games with Notre Dame if you are perceived as a possible threat. I know MEMPHIS has beat the bushes for P5 OOC games and only got local deals:
Miss State - 2022 (A), 2028, 2029 (A) note - played then in MEM this season
Arkansas - 2025, 2026 (A), 2027 (A - $1m buy game)
Missouri - 2023 (first game was at Mizzou in 2018)
Florida State - 2024 (A - $750,000 buy game)

That's it. MEMPHIS and Boise State signed a H&H for 2030/31.

We needed Oregon, OSU, oSu, Wake, and possibly one of bama or Michigan to lose these last few weeks just to get #4. Oh and our ranking also hinged on ND only having 1 loss. Absolutely insane series of events needed to happen and it's absolute crap

It's payback for that pass from Colt Mccoy that hit the ground with 1 second to go to give Texas a chance to kick a field goal to get in the BCS championship. If that pass had hung a second more UC would have played Alabama for the BCS that year.

No revisiting trauma on this happy day.
