But If I were a USM fan, I'd rather the team stay in C-USA West for another season with LA Tech, UAB, UNT, Rice, UTSA, & UTEP. In my opinion it is a better divisional line-up than ULM, Arkansas State, Texas State, ULL, & USA.
Well, you are not a USM fan. And as a USM fan, we prefer one G5 game with Texas teams rather than four. We like sticking closer to home for a number of reasons. Thanks for caring though.

I think using the state of Texas as a scapegoat is missing the mark.
After all, that's where all the best talent is.
There is a reason the AAC took those last 2 Texas teams. I realize they were c*ck blocking the MWC but they were also getting all those Texas players.

Its not my fault that LA Tech, UAB, UNT, Rice, UTSA, & UTEP are cumulatively much, much, further away from USM than ULM, Arkansas State, Texas State, ULL, & USA. I was not the founder of any of those Universities.
Thats roughly 2650 miles of travel vs 1650 (Utep alone is 1000 miles away). Thats 5 schools within 200 miles vs 1 school within 215 miles. And 6 within 300 miles vs 1 within 300. I could do the math alone for the Texas schools, but I think that hits the mark.

Yay!
So long. Good luck. Good riddance!
I’ll miss the AAC bound schools. Can’t say the same about the Sun Belt bound ones.

Are you really that concerned about how we will spend your money???
FIU would just blow it on RC Coala and cheap ugly Miami hookers. and not the school, so I have no worries there. You havn't put a dime in coaches or facilities that matter in years, if ever at all.

I really enjoyed conferencing with USM. Too bad y'all have fallen on hard times. But, I don't really view the Sun Belt West as an improvement. Of course the Belt's media deal is far better than C-USA's. But If I were a USM fan, I'd rather the team stay in C-USA West for another season with LA Tech, UAB, UNT, Rice, UTSA, & UTEP. In my opinion it is a better divisional line-up than ULM, Arkansas State, Texas State, ULL, & USA.
As if UNT has ever done anything. If your horrible coach had not found Mason Fine in a garbage pile somewhere in OK you would have 2 more losing seasons. As decent as Fine was he only had 2 winning seasons at UNT, 5-7, 9-5, 9-4, 4-8.
UNT has had exactly 6 winning seasons since 2000 (2002, 2003, 2005, 2013, 2018, 2019). And you think UNT going to extremely watered down American is going to change that, and its going to miraculously make Rice winners too HuH. You understand that not one of the programs left behind in the AAC wants you there right.

If I had a chance to get W's over ULM, Arkansas State, South Alabama, and Texas State over having to take L's from UTSA, UTEP, UNT, and Rice - I'd choose the former too.
Good luck in the Sun Belt with your regional rivals. Truly hope the team that calls the Rock home can get back to its former glory

First off, if our horrible coach finally wins a bowl game, then it will be SEVEN winning seasons good sir!
Second, he didn't say anything about us suddenly getting better because we are going to the AAC. He just said he thought the current CUSA West is better than the future SBC West. We've played almost a decade against both groupings, so I can agree with Joe. However, I can also see why the SBC west is more desirable to USM for regionality. He didn't say anything about Marshall and SBc east, because honestly, the SBC East does look like a good division to be a part of.
We have 4 Sun Belt conference championships, btw. Good luck catching up to us.

Oh, and I forgot to add, we don't call them garbage piles anymore. They're called reservations

The smaller CUSA gets the better it is. I'm looking forward to our 9 team league. I never liked the 14 team setup.

I agree. Plus we're getting rid of some of the biggest crybabies and non-performers in this conference. Good riddance. No more Texas or Judy to blame for them. Soon they'll have to look in the mirror.

I love the revisionist UNT history where they somehow dominated the Sun Belt despite not appearing in a bowl the last 7 years in the league and not having won a football conference title since Bryce Young was an infant.

Ha! What triggered you? I was asking a question about C-USA West. It has nothing to do with Marshall or our move to the American. It has to do with how next season in C-USA will play out.
You can hate on UNT all you want. Nothing you have to say means anything or changes anything. Enjoy your future in the Sun Belt.
