Is JMU's schedule fixed? Any updates there?

As an aside, that's two programs hosting P5's in the same week. I know that's not been a common occurance, especially for two teams that have an opportunity to win. Could be a huge moment for the Sun Belt to see both App and ODU win.

If our stadium could hold 50k, we'd get that many people up in Boone to watch UNC come into town. 35K is all the fire marshall will allow.

RE: FB week 1 2022
Nicholls can be a tricky FCS team. They’ve played us tough before. They played the Cajuns tough this year. In 2016 South Alabama beat Mississippi State and #19 SDSU in OOC games and our win against Nicholls was only 41-40. I hope USA takes care of business next year.

I see those both as doable right now. UNC will have a lot of highly regarded redshirt freshmen and sophomores finally playing though so that will be something to watch. App will also be breaking in some new guys who have very high ceilings, mostly on the defensive side.

ODU should be returning everyone from the two-deep which makes them very, very dangerous for VT.

Next year will be an important year for Jones to get this team back to respectability. Grambling should provide an easier first step in the process than normal.

Looks like 6 definite wins, some others could be toss ups. Troy and ULM look like they might have a task ahead of them.

I know after the Norfolk State tune up game Marshall heads to South Bend. I still can't believe it.

We have Notre Dame next fall, too. They'll be breaking in a new coach. Could be a nice time for an upset if there was ever going to be one.

If nothing else it could help attendance later in the year if the only way to get a ticket to the UNC game was a season ticket. I remember several years back we opened with Mississippi State at home. Well State fans were pissed that we didn't sell single game tickets until the day of the game. But why would you sell single games more than a month out if it meant season tickets didn't come with the biggest home game of the season?? State fans didn't want to wait until gameday to take chances on a single game ticket so quite a few ended up buying season tickets. We had just over 36k for that game (capacity is 36K) and from then out I wanna say we had 25K and above for remaining 5 home games.

We drew just under 30,000 for ODU that year as we got hot down the stretch, then took a large crowd to Ruston for the de facto western division title game. There is still interest if we put a good product on the field.

Yeah two games that should be winnable and i definitely give App's matchup with UNC a better chance because we fired our OC after our game with CLT and with an unclear QB situation(Couple of QB's coming in to compete with Wolff, a talented local HS QB and a ND transfer who is a VA Native) we have issues to address on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully we will be ready for a turkey meal.

Absolutely and you guys already have that tradition and a large fanbase. As long as you have a competitive product on the filed your fans will come unlike some programs that can't draw flies even with a good product like WKU. They are great program but they suck at drawing fans to the games for some reason.

Unfortunately as of now, the Morgan State game will be telling for GS. If we don't score at will it will be another long season probably, at minimum a rough first half of the season. A lot of GS folks think we are not that far off but I have no idea what team they watched all year.

I really hope TXST can crush Nevada. It would mean a lot if one of our struggling teams can get OOC wins.

Lane Kiffin may be in Miami by then. Though I expect Miami will do something very characteristic and retain Manny or fire Manny and hire Cristobal.
