They've already said they will have divisions. Now, they can change their minds. But they are on records saying divisions will happen.

I’m curious, who would Iowa State prefer to be with?

Personally I would love to stay with the big 8 teams, however I think east and west is the best method. So kstate and KU are musts in the division with ISU. Farmageddon is one of the oldest and continuously played rivalry game so we shouldnt split up ISU and KSU.

Iowa state recruits the Midwest very well and got a lot of guys from Ohio so I’d want Cincy to be in our division. WVU is our riot bowl rival.

The divisions I think we get are

W: BYU, Tech, Baylor, TCU, UH, and OSU
E: KSU, KU, ISU, Cincy, UCF, and WVU.

I'd go with this divisional set up and 8 conference games too. 03-idea 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 04-bow COGS COGS 04-cheers

RE: New vs Old instead of geographic divisions
Its about maximizing tv revenue for this league. You have to do Texahoma + BYU for one division and the other 6 in another division, although divisions may be done with real soon and you go to one individual conference standings. This league has to be a solid 2nd in the state of Texas or if it is even possible a 1B. type of situation. Even when divisions are done away with I think you at least have to have the 4 Texas teams play each other every year and maybe OSU in that mix also.

The state of Texas has 29M people and you have to maximize the tv viewing of those games every year. Thats eventually what got UH in, even though I thought they were a no brainer from the beginning.

you have 4 new schools, I think Byu should go to the West, and the other 3, WV, and choice of 2 more east. Call the divisions whatever you wish.
