I am confident that FBHC Clark has a list of coaches he would like to hire if they become avaiilablr and we can afford them. It just may be that none on his list are looking for a job right now.

RE: Coaching searches mentioning Bill Clark.
If you are waiting to make changes based on recruiting that ain’t going well already, You as the head coach have to solidify those commitments that you do already have. The new additions will want their own guys too. It won’t make sense to wait until after the bowl game when the pool of coaches to pick from has shrunk vastly. So much, nowadays, make me scratch my head.
I actually don’t expect him to have a list because as history has shown, he wants ‘yes men’ that he’s had connections to rather than someone who knows their sh!t.

Additionally, per sources, Helton also has targeted Western Kentucky co-offensive coordinator Bryan Ellis to join his Eagles' staff. Ellis and the Hilltoppers are at UTSA this weekend playing for the Conference-USA championship.
Previously, Ellis and Helton most recently worked together at the University of Southern California, where Ellis was a general offensive assistant and then quarterbacks for two year's under Helton's guidance of the program.

WKU will lose both coordinators. Good move for Ellis -- he needs to be the guy calling plays to make that career progression. Will be interesting to see how it works at GSU because it could be a pretty drastic philosophy change.

SOURCE: WKU Co-OC Bryan Ellis is set to become the new OC/QB coach at Georgia Southern. Ellis has shown a great eye for IDying under the radar quarterback prospects. He will reunite with Clay Helton from their time at USC.

Quote:Bill Clark, Head Coach, UAB
Clark has extensive ties to the state of Alabama and has spent his entire coaching career there, so it would be a bit of an interesting fit to move to the ACC. However, there's no doubt Clark is one of the best coaches at the Group of 5 level. UAB went 6-6 in his debut in 2014, but the program was disbanded for two seasons following that year. The Blazers returned with an 8-5 mark in '17 and are 48-26 overall under Clark's watch. UAB has also won two Conference USA titles.

WKU's OC hired away by Texas Tech. Great move for them.

Helton made a couple of really good hires last offseason. It paid off for a season. Now they have to return to being coached by Helton. I can’t talk much crap, he’s got a win over Clark…
