Can't play 4 on 5 with a guard like this. Imagine the shots he'd get for Memphis and how much he'd open it up for others to score:
I have said this numerous time over the last couple of years, with most posters asking who he was. We were apparently runner up to get him behind Gonzaga. He would have been a complete difference maker.

It is two separate careers, separated by before and after the first two games at the Battle For Atlantis his junior season. In the first two games he played 27 minutes, had 8 points, was 1-3 from the field, had 2 assists and 9 turnovers, fouled out of the VCU game in 20 minutes, and sulked and had poor body language throughout.
From that point on, JJ's junior season was one of the greatest seasons for a point guard in our history. It is a shame his outside shooting went cold during his senior season. He was a complete point guard his senior season.
A major disservice that many on this board do to JJ is to claim that he wasn't a great point guard, and by association, saying Pastner didn't develop him and he was no good because of it. His junior and senior season, he did a great job of running the team. It was night and day from the day he got on campus, to the day he left.
