A lot of people said Coastal deserved the credit they were getting. Quite a few others said Coastal with equal practice scheduling would flail a bit, and they have. Chadwell missed his shot last season when he ducked the championship game in favor of staying ranked, only to lose to Liberty Bibberty.

Any locals have any inside tips on some less expensive travel options. Plane tickets are freaking expensive right now. If I could travel for $400 or less (not including hotel), I could book right now. Problem is all flights to Lafayette seem to be more than that and the ones to Nola/Houston that are less will end up being more once I take into account a rental cat to get me back and forth. Could use some tips.

There are a bunch of other, cheaper hotels around, but less convenient to get to CF, the main campus and downtown. I assume you are getting a car? If so, you could look around outside the UL area, or even in one of the smaller towns around the city. How much time would you be willing to spend driving back and forth from the game?
We also love Airbnb type stuff, so u could try that as well.

We have a direct flight from Charlotte on American. Not sure of the price with it only being 2 weeks out. And then Delta connecting in Atlanta. Those will be your shortest flight time options that get you into LFT.

If neither of the above options is within the budget and you’re trying to avoid a car rental, you can look at flying into MSY and taking either a Greyhound or Amtrak to Lafayette. The Amtrak Sunset Limited goes from Lafayette to New Orleans on Sundays. Not sure about how soon you’d be looking to come in, but you could either take the train here or get on a Greyhound. I’ve done the train to and from New Orleans before and really enjoyed it, takes about 3.5 hours.

Did you check flights into Baton Rouge? B.R. is only about 60 miles from Lafayette.

(1) after making fun of Coastal’s schedule, including playing Kansas, you went and got BLOWN OUT by a team that lost to Kansas. Lol.

(2) if Peoples plays this game, Lafayette is going to lose badly. You are overrated. You beat App without their best player and managed to avoid Coastal. What’s your signature win, People-less App or a Liberty team that lost to ULM?

(3) what’s your all time record vs Coastal? Lol. if my team had a 100 year headstart over another program and that program took all of 5 seasons to surpass mine, they’d be living rent free in my head too.

We’ve won 20 of 23 including a conference championship and have been #2 in SBC recruiting over the past 2 years, so we’re relevant. I had gone through and manually edited these posts that referred to "Covid Carolina" since it was a quoted post that violates current requests by mods not to use that on the main board. I then realized there were other references to COVID in the post I missed and I'm not editing those posts again so this is now it's own thread on the Smack board. Coastal isn't in the SBC Championship game, so why bicker in that thread anyway?
