Too bad Abilene Christian had to forgo the Nassau Championship Tournament this week due to COVID protocol. Their were some peer mid-major programs in the tournament field (UNC Charlotte, Toledo, Tulane, Drexel, Valparaiso, Coastal Carolina, and Jacksonville State) that could have tested ACU and elevated the WAC's stature if the Wildcats had done well.

UVU had 11 players play at least 10 minutes. They had 54 rebounds to Idaho's 27, with Idaho shooting 25% from the field and 3 of 24 from the 3 point line. Looks like another long season for the Vandals. They are horrible.

The refs missed the foul on the last play of the game. Should have been Tarleton at the line for the final shots.

Agreed!!!

Offensive foul on NDSU on their last possession was miscalled and we got fouled on the last play with no call. Gillespie said on the post game he won’t comment on the issues at the end of the game but it was the worst he had ever seen.

UTRGV 82 at NAU 80
First D1 win this season, and first for Figger at UTRGV, glad we're past waiting for that.
Only seven players used.

We should have won tonight.

Very disappointed with our lack of depth, whether it’s coaching decisions or poor recruiting. We can’t continue having three players who play 40 minutes and one who plays 39. The other starter fouled out so he only played 32 minutes.

Completely agree, I was really looking forward to using this tournament as a better gauge for us.

GCU pounded Wyoming on the boards 51-33. But could not hit the broad side of a barn with their shooting and lost 68-61. The Lopes should have won this game as they came all the way back from a double digit deficit to take the lead in the last 5 minutes. But in the end, they couldn't stop Wyoming's guard Hunter Maldonado when it counted.

RE: WAC MBB Week #3
Chicago State had a dreadful first half versus Pacific. Only 12 first half points, down by 21 at the half. Didn't look alive at all, weren't running their sets on offense and looked lost. They were rebounding fair and defense was fair but their offense was poor, on top of not hitting the shots they were getting.

But in the second half they came back to score 46 points and looked really good. Ball movement was good, rebounding well, playing fair defense. They kept narrowing the lead down and had it to 14 points with the ball, but weren't able to get any closer. But if they can come out on fire like that, teams should watch out. Its too bad it took such a bad first half to light the fire.

Highlight of the game was Johnson for Chicago State who had 27 points, including 24 just in the second half. Betson has been their leading scorer, but Johnson can score as well. Impressive half for him. Pacific could not contain him. Betson only had 2 points until they final 3 minutes, and finished with 11.
