He didn't have a stellar defense at tech, but looking to the coordinators and other staff he brings in. I like the fact that several of the Tech fans have said really good things about him. Why he wants to be at ACU and how he sees himself fitting in at least sparks my curiosity. The record will speak for itself soon enough. I was hoping to hear him this evening, but will need to wait until tomorrow afternoon.

RE: Abilene Christian Head Football Coaching Search
I got my answer as to why KP is at ACU; relationships. He values relationships and wanted a place that valued it as much as him. He found that at ACU. He saw a place where he can make a difference on and off the field and leave a legacy. I hope it happens on and off the field. What was a pleasant surprise was that it was Chris Thompson who called ACU and gave them KP's name as a person who should be there. CT was our head coach during our DII heydays in the early 2000s. Many of our alum wanted him back. It told me a lot that CT thought enough of us and KP to want us to work together for the football program. His speech today was very emotional and I appreciated it. Coach Matt Wells was there to support him and I thought that spoke highly of him as well; regardless of Well's record at Tech. I was able to run by ACU and watch the speech. Below is the link. The football players reacted very positively. KP will have his hands full.

Nope, his defenses were masked by Leach’s offense. Had his Defense been solid Tech would’ve competed for an NC. Instead every year the D let them down in big games.
