RE: Question for UH fans
So the OP is making fun of UH's stadium and attendance when UTSA has been to only 2 bowl games with zero wins and doesn't even have their own stadium on campus plus play basketball in a high school gym?

Congrats on your successful season. You have bragging rights now you're in the AAC. Lol

lol this is his 5th troll attempt....

he is mad that a few aac fans said utsa has to step up its basketball facilities that are trash..

he made one of usf and temple, asking how come they dont have a stadium that they dont share with an nfl team. (notice the very weird wording, his issue was on-campus stadium but "sharing with an nfl team"..thats because utsa doesnt have an on-campus stadium it owns, so he was trying to avoid the self burn)

not he is doing the capcity thing with houston.. to the big 12 standard

its not really trolling, when none of it makes sense... he is trying to state its okay for utsa to have trash baskbetball facilities but stating what he thinks are similar thing aac teams arent doing ..."look temple they share a stadium with a nfl team", and "houston has a smallish stadium compared to the big 12" (noting its only about 5k-10k less than most of the big 12)

I'm just asking a question. It's concerning that it doesn't make sense. Why is attendance so low at UH football games. The only response I seem to get is that of a question asking why UTSA's attendance is so low. I think you guys are scared of answering the question.

Lol. I'd spend my free time trolling too if I still lived in San Antonio. It's a dump (like almost all of texas). Idk why the rest of the country is fooled but you won't fool me. Kids holding you up at gunpoint just for getting lost down Marbach. I think SA and Memphis are the poorest major metros in the US. Look at the Airports. Yeeesh.

I respect the undefeated season though. I sure hope the success is sustained. Despite the harsh words I think San Antonio needs UTSA to flourish and grow, and I hope they do. It could really use an increase in class and that class of people can be home grown.

thats not true at all.. Houston fans almost never make jabs at attendance, only relation jabs like i did...
i think utsa's attendance numbers that are worse than Houston are fine, i think Houston's numbers are fine...we are both foing okay there

we've noted facility quality, for recruiting... but rarely ever attendance ...facilties affect the quality of teams you can bring in to the league..and not anchor the league by being a q4 game...attendance is meaningless to me and it only affects your school

attendance smack is more a cincy fan kink

Taking bets on how fast UTSA disappears after this year

1 Year?
2 Years?

Did y'all archive your videos so you have some cool replays to rememeber "The Year".

Anyhow... We might just take that B12 money, tear down TDECU and build a bigger, badder ATT Stadium that'll make Jerry Jones poop his pants, just because we'll be able to afford it soon. Giganto big screen and all, and a roof even!! We'll might invite y'all to come play there, but after we've won the 1st game there of course, you understand.

How's it go? Oh ya, "Money money money mo-nay!! MON-ay!!" - The Ojays

This kind of fiscal ignorance is what I would expect from a UH grad. In case your fairy tale comes true, make sure to schedule UTSA for opening night at TDECU 2.0 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Ha, who cares. We can be as fiscally irresponsible as we want now! And remember, while y'all got the win at TDECU, the net result was the following year we won the NY6 Peach Bowl, so every time you bring it up, it only brings a smile to our faces.

You're still thinking "small time" from a "small town". Not us, we gonna be a big noise with all the big boys! In fact we may change our fight song to this:

If you want to compare any AAC schools football record their first 10 years of existence with UTSA, by all means go for it. I would be questioning UH's attendance regardless of what UTSA's record is. This has nothing to do with my schools success.

dont gaslight.. if you wanted to ask about attendance, you wouldnt have started with capacity...you are looking for a jab thatll stick...its disingenuous to pretend otherwise

if you want a legit answer, houston is doing 27-30k a game, the year after covid...which is very good for a g5... i don't get the "so low"..if thats the case every g5, but 5 or so, are horrendously low

if you are asking why we arent 40k, its obvious the fan interest isnt at its highest with dana holgerson...as early as 5 games ago half our fan base wanted him fired.. the 2 seasons before this season were the 2 worst back to back season for UH in 15 years ... you dont go from disinterest to overhyped overnight..

Sounds like you're making an excuse.

Last memphis game was about the same attendance at memphis around 28k as last night's game in houston.

Last game at SMU vs UCF was about 23k. So you'll also have to call them out too.

UH is coming out of 2 bad back 2 back seasons. When UH starts winning bowls again, we'll start seeing an increase.

Keep flexing UTSA. Lol

why would you be questioning UH's attendance???..we are one of the best attended g5 programs

you have taken on a cincy troll and made it a utsa troll, when it makes no sense on utsa...
cincy is doing 37k for the season so they have the high ground to mock 29k.... utsa doesn't... stating Houston has bad attendance from a utsa fan is nonsensical

RE: Question for UH fans
You can go into any UH forum and find plenty of our own fans bashing the attendance so I’m not surprised to see it here.

But you look at USC vs UCLA and how empty that stadium is and you start to get that in an urban setting it’s pretty difficult to create a college atmosphere.

Sampson has done a great job, football not so much. But mind you Sampson had his ear to the ground and knew that even despite a final four last year on the opening game this year the arena was going to to be empty if he didn’t put some work at it so he got his ass on campus and marketed the game gave away student tickets and ran around campus with a bullhorn no lie to get people aware.

No one has done any kind of marketing for this team and Dana doesn’t enjoy media. Hell, I still haven’t even found the post game press conference whereas herman, who wrote the book on how to sell out UH games, would have been everywhere after this game.

But our fans are pretty delusional. A real post from coog fans is calling for us to upgrade all the bleachers to chairbacks, install a sun screen for the bowl, light up the outside of the stadium etc.

Where do folks think the money comes from when our highest attended game was 28k? Lmao we are the most fair weather group you’ll fine but our administration knows how to win and I enjoyed going to college at UH so im ride or die.

If you weren't always spouting it every post, nobody else would have noticed it.
You wanna know why?

You're too focused on things that simply just don't matter, and all the attendance smack in the world won't change that.

Hey let us know when they start handing out trophies for attendance. 03-lmfao

Attendance smack has and always will be the lamest form of smack talk. I was going to UH basketball games in worn down arena with maybe 1k fans in the stands. Never bothered me as long as we won. Truth be told if the only people that went to UH games were me and my family I'd be content as well. I only want to see our guys win. Everything else is extra. Now stop feeding this troll.

The problem is deep down you know it’s important. You know that Dana had high level recruits on campus Friday watching his 9-1 ranked team play in front of a half empty stadium. And you know that today West Virginia vs Texas two 4-6 teams played in front of a great crowd. You know the recruits we are out to get have offers from WVU, Baylor, OSU, TCU, Tx tech, and when they visit those places they are blown away at how many fans are supporting the team.

With the NIL it’s more important than ever to pick a school that has a rabid fan base.

A 5 star recruit can go to Tx A&M where every alumni who owns a business is a potential money maker for the player or they can go to UH where 90% of the alumni won’t know who we play on Saturday.

That’s the cold hard facts. I’m a supporter but if Dana beats cinci and any other school offers him 4M a year he’s taking another job. Middle finger to us for wanting to fire him when he lost and not supporting him when he won.

Robertson stadium in the 2000’s and 2011 had better support than what this team got. Fact. Throwing money at it won’t build you a program. Having fans and a good game day experience regardless of record and opponent will and that’s something we have never been able to build and I don’t have the answer to it other than time and changing from commuter school

Vcoog it's the year after Covid.. 80% of the nation is half empty arena

Dana also can't recruit.. with or without fans he wasn't bringing in any major hall...he had sold out arenas in WVU and brought in juco... And before you say it's wvu.. his successors have recruited drastically better than him..

You post is a drastic overstatement

You won’t have to worry. Dana Holgersen has no chance of beating Cincy. Cincy wins by 17 or more.

Perhaps, but you know it’s true to some degree lol. Because all of us would be sharing pictures of the full stadium and screaming we’ve arrived if Friday was sold out. That’s not the case.

Regardless I’ll always be a fan of UH and like any fan want the best for our school to give it a chance to compete and you know it’s important to the administration and public image to have high level support for the team.

But 10 in a damn row is the main takeaway thus far. We can win and beating a “name brand school” in a New Year’s Day game will definitely help the cause and give us some momentum next year to do better.

Go coogs

I hate A&M and want that overpaid coach to have his stupid reading glasses knocked off every game. Was awesome to see his RB’s shut down in the peach bowl in 2015. A game I drove 10 hours to go see in person (I was a student at the time)

But UH does have a good fan base we just don’t get any activity from them.

i didnt praise attendance when we were selling out every game under herman... i honestly dont care about attendance like at all...

attendnace to me is a symptom... not an issue, especially in Houston

you are viewing attendance as the issue and something that needs to be fixed... winning is what needs to fixed and that cure isnt an instant fix (buy in takees time)...

our non sellouts were predictable..we had like 40 threads in the houston forum preseason that we had to fire holgs because the fans had abandoned him and our stadium would be empty and we'd lose money... tune/holgs were on life support.. beating some scrubs teams has brought some life back.. beat cincy and next year we'll be fine
