ODU starts playing better football and salvages a bowl game after they announced joining the Sun Belt.

Did ODU fans defend C-USA's strategy? I thought pretty much everyone over there realized not long ago that market focus wasn't the ideal way to go once they saw the product and lack of interest.

Regional rivalry are where it's at. There is an entire weekend dedicated to regional rivalries yet the powers that be seem to avoid it at all costs.

Just to clarify, just because ODU is eligible doesn't mean they are guaranteed a bowl. CUSA has more eligible teams than spots, and we have 1 more bowl eligible FBS teams than spots at present. Some 6-6 G5 team is getting left out

And you know CUSA won't bend over backwards to get ODU in anywhere.

I don’t recall any ODU fans ever preaching the Gospel of Marketz. Their fans typically came down on the side of good football and fan support as I recall. The Marketz stuff was championed more by fans of schools that had nothing else to contribute, like the F_Us and the AACk dregs.

I remember right before they left, UNT fans going on and on about their geographic location relative to the Dallas market, and not listening to anyone who pointed out that half of Dallas likely has no idea who they are, and another strong percentage might but probably aint watching unless Texas and A&M are not playing.
