They didn't say he transferred. They said they were surprised App got him out of the warm weather in Miami and up to a cooler climate in Boone. They were pretty good in my opinion. Seemed every bit incredulous about Troy's offense as the Troy posters are here.

That defense is for real so if they can find find way to have a decent offense they will be hard to beat.

The other announcer corrected him after a minute. Go back and listen again.

They also said multiple times that Troy was 2-0 in turnovers, they used “reenergization” as a word, they made comments about app’s “Alabama like” commitment to wearing the same jerseys week in and week out. Come on guys. Yes, they were complementary of both teams but overall they weren’t good. It’s ok to criticize someone when they don’t perform well. Nobody here is calling for their jobs.

I'm not sure how much these guys do this outside of ESPN+. Kollmeyer is the marketing director for a MS community college, but does some freelance play-by-play. Ben Stanfield, the color analyst, is a morning news anchor for a Columbus, Georgia TV station. It's reasonable to expect people to do their best, but if people want major network production quality, including camera work, someone is going to have to shell out the money for it. ESPN+ is exactly what it is. I think they do a "decent" job when you consider they are only doing this as a side gig.

WE ALL complain when ESPN1/2/U use our games to promote the playoffs and Heisman stuff rather than talking about the game. ESPN+ at least keeps the convo on the teams and game.

Can't make everyone happy. Two guys who were clearly having fun were announcing. They had some goofs. So did the refs, and their job is a lot more serious.

Overall, I thought they were pretty good and had a number of complimentary things to say about App. We have some fans that criticize everyone who's not employed to do our games.

It's not so much about being an App fanboy as it is wanting decent coverage of the SB games. I probably only watch Troy once a year but I know they have a big rivalry game with USA with a wrestling belt up for grabs. Things like knowing the game between App and GS is a major rivalry game regardless of records should be as obvious as knowing Marshall's primary color is green.

I mean I once hired a freelance announcer for my racing series I used to run and within a week he went into our race at East Carolina Motor Speedway and knew every driver in the field, their sponsors and hometowns as if he had been with the series for years. It's the little things. And a lot of schools (especially App's) broadcasting needs to step it up if we're going to be supposedly the top 6th or 7th FBS conference out there.

Congrats on the win App St. That’s the most embarrassing game I’ve ever watched in the Vet. There’s not one person on the offensive side do the ball, at Troy they should be coaching college football.

Having attended the game yesterday I will credit Troy for having an excellent band....they were outstanding the entire day.

Now hopefully App can put UL on the back burner for a week and concentrate on playing GS next Saturday. They have snuck up App two of the last three years and some payback is due. If the App defense we saw yesterday (really the last 3 weeks) makes an appearance it should be a long day for the Eagles and a good jump start for the UL trip.

Troy, get your offense together and win at GSU and get bowl eligible! We don't want to give up bowl slots........

Props to you on attending again. There are very few App games that Mr. SpeedkingATL won't attend despite the distance.

Think they did a really good job. Very knowledgeable about football and the color analyst called an App TD pass play. Very complimentary of App and our fans. Much better than some of the total homer crews I've heard.

Not ESPN quality by any stretch, and they truly lacked situational awareness. But better the GS announcers last weekend, which is not saying much.
