It's Reghi. Accuracy is not a strong suit. Hyperbole is about all he brings.

Stat to watch in the second half. Will our 3rd string RB get more carries for the game than our QB has passing attempts?

Can we agree no more Crum runs this game? Not worth the risk.

Questions we obviously won't know the answer to yet... Was the D Coordinator significant addition by subtraction? Is the defense having an out of body experience? Or is Akron just really this bad?

They scored a combined 65 points the prior two weeks against Ball State and WMU. Their offense is not that bad. Their awful W-L record is due more to their defense than their offense, just as KSU's 5 losses are due to their defense, and not their offense..

The 0 is more impressive than the 38. It's the first time all season Akron hasn't scored. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's only the third time all season a MAC team has been shut out, and the first time in MAC play.

First time since 1949 Kent has shut out Zippy according to Allen Moff. When was their last shutout?

Good question. Wish I knew. When is the last time they held an FBS opponent to fewer than 200 yards (195), and rushed for 415 yards against an FBS opponent?
Strange day.

Average margin of victory in the three-game winning streak is 32 points.

Answering my own question 2009 for the shutout. It was actually then FCS Coastal Carolina in a 18-0 win. I wonder when the last FBS one was. nothing going back to 2000 and going to assume can skip the 90s

RE: Wagon Wheel Week
What's pathetic is that Akron actually leads the series by 8 games, even though through most of the years Akron was considered a "smaller" program, until they became I A (now FBS) in 1987. Akron has won 20 to KSU's 14 since they became I A. Well, I'm glad Kent State football has been on an upswing (at least for now).

Thinking of next week's game, how many other old timers are remembering that cold Saturday afternoon in 1973?

RE: Wagon Wheel Week
It's hard to believe the announcers do so little homework on the game that they didn't know that next week's game vs. Miami is for the East title, which was decided as soon as Toledo started pummeling OU earlier this week. They kept talking like the outcome of this game had some bearing on that when it didn't matter if we won or lost. Next week's winner faces NIU, period. We knew that Tuesday night

Agree. Shoddy work by them.

Let’s face there are more games than qualified announcers. They could care less about Akron, Kent or the MAC. Just collecting a pay check.

If the previous DC was that incompetent you have to question the head coach. I remember our company hiring a computer programmer who was a complete fake. Took about 6 weeks to figure it out. The head of the department didn’t last much longer. If your first theory turns out to be correct it would have to be a similar situation. Hope not.

It's puzzling. It's difficult to believe that a change in a defensive coordinator could make such a drastic change so quickly. Agree, if the previous coordinator was really THAT bad, what does it say about the head coach???
