I love CC and think he's done an amazing job. My question is....would it make sense for EMU to look for an Offensive and defensive coordinator who are on the rise? I wonder if we threw more $$$ at those positions if we could get a bigger talent pool and ultimately have better schemes and get out of the 1 score games we almost always are in. Right now I think the coordinator spots are around 160k each. thoughts?

You go where you went last time. A successful young FCS head coach. Just an example Grambling St. Enough of P5 assistants and D2. We didn't do it in basketball thank goodness. We went for a seasoned experienced guy in Heath who had head coaching experience on the D1 level. And hiring a FCS coach is budget friendly.

Deboer to Washington.

I really was hoping he’d succeed Coach Creighton.

I don't think CC is leaving this year. But just for fun here are some FCS coaches to keep your eyes on:

I only wish Deboer would come here! He has done exactly what a way above average coach does! Does great as a coordinator at Fresno St, and Indiana, then took over A down Fresno St team, and in year TWO has them at 9-3, against good competition, played Oregon very tough, beat UCLA! Similar to Sean Lewis at Kent St, Mcelwain at C Mich, and Leipold at Buffalo! Then the big schools come, and get you! If N Illinois coach does it again, he'll get poached! CC, until he can win more then
SEVEN games, win A MAC West title, isn't going anywhere! Fan bases want difference makers!

I agree but if we win our bowl game, the worry warriors will come out of the woodwork afraid of CC being hired away.

Unless CC emphasizes the running game with strategic passing vs vice versa Chris will probably not move up to a bigger job.

RE: 2022 Coaching Carousel Thread
This is a strange thread which has a life of is own.

Started with the notion that EMU might win say as many as 9 games and c c. Could get poachhed despite a new contract t.

Well it has been obvious that ain't happening, but the thread expands.

Cued up Little Feats Mercenary Territory this AM in honor of Kelly. Apparently it pays more to be a sinner than a saint in college football.

That seems to be the reaction I've seen from most people. It must just be me, but in my mind LSU is a better job. Lower recruiting standards, better weather, LSU is going to pay him over $10M (I think he was making something like $7M at ND).

The other argument I've heard is that the path to a national title is easier at ND vs. LSU because you don't have to deal with the SEC...I don't by that. In the BCS/NY6 era alone LSU has won three national titles. Notre Dame hasn't won anything since I was a toddler. The few times they have been "close" (BCS title game vs. Alabama, and two CFP appearances) they clearly weren't actually close.
