Thanks for starting this thread I'm currently in Oxford, Mississippi watch them play Texas A&m

I pray we hit the portal to get LB's. or get them thru JUCO.

I think this team offensively is set for the next 2 years but defensively we are the worst I've seen.

CC, please get some LB's that will not be 5'9 and will step.up and hit someone.

Latrell Fordham has entered the transfer portal. I liked his size but we have plenty of remaining depth at WR.

I doubt he'll be the only WR taking that route - we seem to have over recruited that position just a touch.

That's too bad. He has great upside potential.

We offer Geoffrey Cantin-Arku 6'4 230 LB native to Quebec City and a Syracuse transfer. We are his 16th offer. Sow is from Quebec and we had Deslarulers and Mulumba from Quebec as well.

Finally looking at the right body type for the position.

And he is a state of Michigan kid. Can't say, "I decided I wanted to be closer to home..."

Next excuse...

Amen to that. Hope we get him. He'd be a difference-maker.

Looks like he has 7 FBS offers.

EMU was a good fit for him and he could've done very well here. Hope the grass is greener elsewhere for him and that he doesn't screw himself.

16 overall with 9 being FCS. At least that's what it looked like when I scanned it. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

RE: 2022 Transfer Portal Thread
One general note: I think the presence of the transfer portal and the wholesale transferring will slow down h.s. signings this month. If I'm a HC I prioritize some of the limited number of scholarships for FBS transfers and hold back on some h.s. athletes.

And as we know, coaches have 3 bites at the apple. They can sign recruits this month, again in February and then, if scholarships remain, they can pick up transfers until Summer.

Whom will get hurt the most: "Plan B" high school recruits. If I were a coach would I sign a plan B recruit or pocket the scholarship hoping to get lucky in spring with a collegiate transfer?

I totally agree Steve. That's why I'm ok with the smaller #s right now because I'm hoping CC and staff are hoping to raid the defensive portal. I'm on 247sports-portal tracker every day and filtering it by position. I'm hoping Neathery is doing the same.

The portal has forever changed the landscape and I find it fascinating. the more I think about it, CC has used the 'portal' for years raiding the JUCO circuit and I love it. To get to the top and get closer to the 8 win season that we all want we need JUCO players like Beltram we had a couple yrs ago and/or we hit the portal hard getting 2nd and 3rd yr guys who can immediately play.
