Correct. It happened in the BCS era but the CFP committee adds even more bias than the BCS selection method did. You'd need to have the 2nd best G5 champ be in the top 10 ish range in order to have 2 G5 teams in. Not impossible but hasn't happened since the CFP era started in 2014. Last year was the closest we got to it happening but last year was an anomaly with the polls since the B1G and PAC 12 missed half the year. BYU could get it done as the 2nd best this year if you consider them G5 though they aren't. They could be in line to become the first non-P5 and non-ND team to get an at large NY6 bowl spot.
