I like UIW and would be very happy to have them. But it's way out of line with what we were told about the reasons for the "Texas 4" leaving the Southland.

Don’t let the voices of a few, count for the voices of all. Does UIW have good facilities? Certainly not for football and basketball. Not sure what the other ones look like. However, they’re already D1 and their football team is in the top 25, despite their bad facilities.

Direct flights to San Antonio is a major plus. Facilities will improve eventually. Also road fans will be more inclined to travel to SA than Huntsville even if SHST is a better athletic department currently.

They were unwilling or unable to commit to invest in facilities or other upgrades, such as ESPN quality broadcast equipment. Perhaps that’s changed?

I like the WAC. WCC is a no brainer. BSC and BWC they would probably consider. I don’t think the Summit would consider SU and vice versa.

They’re now the best football program in the WAC. Wow.

Debatable.

Stephen F Austin should be the top contender for the WAC crown next year. You got to remember that UIW (and their fellow Southland leader at Southeastern) does not place a premium on defense. It'll be a bit different in the WAC.

SFA beat UIW 31-24, the last time they played in 2019 and SFA was 3-9 that season.

SFA is 5-1 against UIW in football.

Don't look now but the WAC is shaping up into a really nice baseball conference. That's where UTech really shines and Tarleton is making strides. ACU has always put a good product on the field. CBU and GCU as well.

They found a good deal on a webcam at one of the pre Black Friday events. They're OK to join now.

You must have a real fascination with Eastern New Mexico State University. You have only mentioned them numerous times. Did the horse flies almost carry you away when you visited Portales?

Are they as good as NMSU football? Texas State?

With NMSU and SHSU leaving yall looking like:

Utah Tech
SUU
SFA
UIW
Lamar
Abilene Christian
Tarleton State
UTRVG

That's not a bad looking FCS Conference at all. Looking at the remaining schools the only real feasible one I could see moving up the FBS is Tarleton State as they have been very vocal about it which still leaves you at seven schools. You could easily backfill with West Texas A&M to keep it at 8.

Two southwestern Utah schools in a Texas conference.

If you’re punch drink, imagine what David Street feels like? 3,726 of his 92,163 predictions came true in the span of less than a year. He’s probably taking red wine baths, eating potted meat sandwiches and cackling uncontrollably…

We could use a 12th member, and Mongoose has provided UH's blessing for Seattle. 04-cheers
