OK thanks. I saw there was some general parking available in the deck but thought it might be easier to get in and out of in the reserved parking area. Maybe that's misguided.

Getting in and out of any section of the parking deck is annoying at best and a nightmare at worst. There is one way in and out, so you just have to get in line and come down the deck. As someone else said, if you are not in a hurry and you like the covered parking, then park in the lot. If you want to get out quickly, either park in one of the campus lots or in Costco and walk to the arena.

Lol that was my group. We named the whole tailgate “Crack Alley”. Twas fun. Looking to revive it for the ODU game, but tailgate plans are tougher in Norfolk.
