I wish he had worn the backwards cowboy hat.

Alger has done a lot of good for our university regardless of how some initially perceived his social skills. He hit a home run today, and clearly is looking to put JMU on the map nationally.

I thought the cowboy hat was fun, and would love to see him wear it again, either at the presser or Frisco if we make it. It may be quirky how he wore it, but its cool and entertaining in its own right. Too much professionalism feels like a UVa or RU sweater vest thing. Give me cowboy hats any day!

I agree. I was in Walmart a couple of weeks ago and saw a kid about 5 years old with a backwards cowboy hat. I thought, 'young man, you may one day lead a fine university to the promised land.'

If he would have finished by placing a cowboy hat in his head backwards I would have donated $500 to the DC for that alone.

Even owned the suit criticism. 03-lmfao That genuinely makes me like the man. I feel like I've learned a lot about our leadership through all this.

Definitely more than a "tad"! :)
But other than that I agree! I have been a critic of the guy for a while, but I did believe he would be accepting of a move to FBS.
He will go down in history as the president that got us there.
I will also admit, I never really saw him as a Duke. He was just the guy in charge. I have to say that my opinion on the guy has changed.
I do wish he was a little bit "cooler", but he is what he is.
I certainly would take the time to try to meet him, shake his hand, and thank him.
He is a JMU Duke. His family are Dukes.
