I don't think we want to do that. It's mostly a AAC vs Sun Belt sticking point IMHO.

Angry why? We "could" end up making more than 2.5, as I showed in my example above.

Some random Sun Belt poster starting a thread in the CUSA board about how much JMU "could" make is borderline trolling.

I can tell you, it's not a CUSA troll. The reason the OP posted it here is because Marshall, Southern Miss and ODU are all still here and between boards.

It's not a bad discussion. Definitely not a troll attempt.

It actually validates what many of us here have been saying for years.

That a lot of us have all been severely undervalued.

Also, a lot of AAC fans have been downplaying this news prior to these tweets. Now more and more evidence piles up.

This is what's currently being debated.

The AAC newbies want to claim superiority, yet they will ultimately get equal pay and equal exposure to the Sun Belt.

Yet the Sun Belt teams will play in a much more travel friendly, regional conference. The Sun Belt additions are also on equal footing with the rest of the conference, the AAC editions will not be, so they are stuck at a competitive disadvantage.

The AAC additions also reportedly have to pay a 10 million dollar entry fee. The Sun Belt additions were waived.

This is all yet to be determined, but all evidence points to these as being factors.
It's more about sun belt guys not being able to read. And not being able to differentiate between media money and conference payout

Again the 500 k you are paid by cusa right now is the media deal. The 1.7 or 1.8 million is payout

The 2.5 million talked about here is total conference payout. If anything this proves what we've been saying all along , your guys were using fuzzy math and you weren't going to get what new Aac teams gets

PS:. You keep repeating this crap about not being on equal footing as if it's permanent. The AAC schools are getting paid 7 million a year. Sun belt is getting. 1.4. A lot easier to start them the same than the new Aac schools ...

That being said the aac money escalates over the remainder of the contract. Then it's equal on the next one ...that happens with higher payout conferences. Sun belt is peanuts

AAC has a deal for 40 games on tv a year. Sun belt is 15...

Sorry but the 4 added aren't making up that difference.

Far flung conference? Not really. East and west just like sun belt. Florida teams fly everywhere for the most part anyways.

The AAC teams aren't hurting for money or travel options either to say the least...

You can project all you want on the future but at present, you are clearly wrong

Again Riley you are looking like a fool here. You clearly can't comprehend what was truly said with this jmu stuff. If you knew the differences, you wouldn't be acting smug

This proves you aren't getting 2-2.5 million per team for your tv media deal. The sun belt people didn't know what they were talking about

Not borderline. It absolutely is.

Why? We are going to get more being CUSA?

It needs to be pointed out that the original tweet was corrected by several JMU fans in attendance.

The 1.5 million is the conference distribution with a potential of 2.5 million if the CFP expands.

CFP approximately = 16 million / 14 schools = 1.14 plus 400k ESPN = 1.5 million

Who cares? It’s great increase for JMU and interesting topic.

But it won’t be a increase for Marshall, USM or ODU.

Riley you do realize Marshall received 2.7 million from CUSA the year before?

That’s more than the 2.5 million “potential” from the JMU tweet.

RE: OT: Sun Belt's ESPN Deal
It’s going to be all fuzzy math. ESPN is going to restructure the AAC deal also with the six invites getting 5 million less plus all the exit fees from the 3 leaving to make up the difference for the remaining

Who knows what’s is going to be but It will be less guaranteed. The AAC just lost all their moneymakers plus all the NY6 teams and most of it’s NCAA credits.

It wouldn’t be surprising if their conference distribution gets cut in half.
