In 2014, Oliver Luck, the WVU AD, moved from that position to the CFP committee. We weren't getting ranked higher than a 2 loss Boise St but it also didn't help the the 2013 realignment left us with no quality OOC game on the schedule for 2014 and even that would only have been Louisville. They moved the game because they were forming their ACC schedule. So it was 1 part conspiracy hosejob and 2 parts crappy schedule that prevented our ranking that year. In the end we didn't beat WKU so who knows what would happen.

UTSA deserves to be ranked. It is a travesty that they are not, even as just recognition that they are winning games for that long. They can always take them out of they lose.

UTSA may deserve to be ranked but with their weak schedule you know it's going to be held against them. They've got some good wins but none that just wow you and for the G5 we have to have some serious wow included. Sad but true.

UTSA may deserve to be ranked but with their weak schedule you know it's going to be held against them. They've got some good wins but none that just wow you and for the G5 we have to have some serious wow included. Sad but true.

They have a history of knocking off big teams in their short time playing football. Can't always help who you schedule or how good they'll be the year you play.

. . . They save a ton by having crappy facilities. (Not hating either, just a fact). They rent the Alamodome for FB games. Their Basketball Arena/Baseball Field are Gawd awful . . .

They will surely be ranked after beating a tough and scrappy USM this week. A major upgrade to their schedule.

We're definitely not a trap game this year..

I was excited when I checked scores on Saturday and we were up 14-0. I said hot dog we got it figured out.

Later I stopped checking the score because it made me sad.

True but, I have never understood the fascination with SP+, it is the only ranking I see quoted like gospel when is no more reliable than any other ranking. It has two three loss teams and two two loss teams in the top ten. That is a joke.

For what it's worth, UTSA has beaten the spread in every game this year but one, and that was the UNLV game. It shows that we've been undervalued all year, weak schedule or not. Btw, we're actually #2 in the nation against the spread. We're #23 now in the CFP though, so it's all good. This year has already been so much better than any of our fans could've dreamed, so everything else is just icing on the cake.

And yes, the last team we lost to was Louisiana in the bowl game last year. But a quick reminder that we didn't have Coach Traylor on the sideline for that game, as well as 3 other assistant coaches, because they all came down with COVID days before. We've actually now won 12 straight games with him present and coaching.

Predictable response, but ironic, as I seem to recall Louisiana fans citing a COVID-depleted roster as the reason for your loss to Coastal last year. It is what it is though, and I'm looking forward to a wonderful Christmas!
