Also, in baseball. The average ranking of the 6 teams (UTEP does not have baseball) is #117. If you include WKU and MTU, it is #133. The average Sun Belt ranking is 125. The average MAC ranking in baseball is #171. This should also give WKU and Middle Tenn some pause as basketball and baseball are worse in the MAC. I also think CUSA could pick up someone like Dallas Baptist in baseball.

why are you adding UAB to the Belt?
I made an error including UAB. I reconfigured using JMU, ODU, Marshall, and Southern Miss, and Sun Belt actually dropped from #125 in baseball to #135. Marshall is rated #251 in baseball and JMU is #239, so that offset the good ratings of ODU and So. Miss. Reconfiguring for basketball, it moved the Sun Belt from #200 to #201.

Add in Mo State at 97 and NDSU at 150 and the average with with WKU and MTSU goes to 155. Without them it drops to 148.

If WKU and MT stay CUSA will be a pretty good basketball league. Most likely still 1 bid, but right on the cusp. Even if they leave, UTEP, LaTech, NMSU and LU is probably as formidable as WKU, ODU, UAB and Marshall... and not as much dead weight at the bottom.
