The Better Pair: NDSU & SDSU (All-Sports) >>> UMass & UConn (FB-Only)
Future growth (for football especially) must come by following the Big 12's footprint.

Instead of reaching into the Northeast, CUSA needs to be on the opposite side of its new footprint.

CUSA is looking good with its most recent additions; and it can look even better - but it needs to focus on the best paydirt.

Simply look up from Texas - all the way to NDSU and down (to Missouri State) - and be the only non-P5 conference on that line.

Stay away from the East coast. Let the AAC and Sunbelt have that.

CUSA needs to avoid overlap. A 9 to 12 ALL-SPORTS conference is much better than inviting terrible FB-Only schools, and the travel is probably better too.

Agree with staying central, and the Dakotas are must adds, but after them and MoSU, maybe northern Iowa you start running out of options. There are none in Nebraska, Kansas , and Oklahoma. Maybe Arkansas and definitely Texas.

But going south, Midwest, east coast would be losing options.

Between few good options and losing options, I’d go with few, especially is quality fcs programs exist among the few: like the Dakotas and MoSU.

The only real thing we bring is already being FBS. I'm not sure who would argue you on this point in the thread outside of the potential "Do they have what it takes to move up to FBS at this point?" comment.

I mean I guess another argument could be that the CUSA doesn't want to grow too large, so take UMass & UCONN football only for during the transition period and then give us the boot.

it'd have to be NDSU & Missouri State as partners if you can convince Missouri state to leave MVC for basketball.

It won't be that easy giving you the boot. Like Socialist countries you vote them in but you have to fight them out. It would turn out like this scenario, I would imagine.

Clearly, neither school brings anything in football but you expect us to front all the benefits while you skate. Nah, I don't think so, bring your basketball with you and it would be a fair trade.
