Trayvon Rudolph is our best receiver
Richie is a damn good receiver but the kind of season that Rudolph is having is amazing. He’s a threat to score everything the ball is in his hands.

RE: Trayvon Rudolph is our best receiver
He's good one. But there were some plays he missed on. I think he had at least 2 or 3 easy catches he dropped and the two pt conversion he should have ran in to beat the one defender.

Trayvon Rudolph is our best receiver
He has speed for sure and has been stellar. Don't know if he is better but glad we can even have the debate.
Earlier this season I noted that both RB and WR rooms were stacked but we are finally now able to see the WRs. Even Travis is catching the ball now.
I did count about 6 drops from my estimates.

Yea I believe it was 6. How many yards would Lombardi have had if those were caught?

The Rudolph drop just before the half was huge. Even if NIU doesn't go on to score there, neither does Kent.
Rudolph is very fast, and he made the 3 best catches of his young career tonight.
That said, Richie is far superior in his route running and hands at this point.
Comparing them after the catch is tough, because they are both very good at it, but do it totally differently. Rudolph uses quickness and then pure speed. Richie uses strength and savy.

RE: Trayvon Rudolph is our best receiver
It's crazy how Rudolph has exploded after rarely being used in the first seven games. Here are his game by game stats:
Ga Tech 0 catches, 0 yards, 0 TDs
Wyoming 2 catches, 65 yards, 1 TD
Michigan 3 catches, 14 yards, 0 TDs
Maine 3 catches, 46 yards, 0 TDs
EMU 0 catches, 0 yards, 0 TDs
Toledo 3 catches, 25 yards, 0 TDs
BGSU 1 catch, 20 yards, 1 TD
CMU 6 catches, 160 yards, 2 TDs
Kent 14 catches, 309 yards, 3 TDs

He has certainly come into his own the last two weeks. It's super exciting...

We got to remember, he is still a freshman. Hopefully, he works hard on his craft and those dropped passes will be infrequent.
Haven't seen this much output for a freshman receiver since Sam Hurd and the Wisconsin game. Let's hope Trayvon keeps away from the cartels.
The one offensive player that had a disappointing game was Rat Dog. He played like a freshman and not a player that has 4 years college experience.

Rudolph needs to be amazing now---I'm pretty sure we will get the broken ankle news (if they disclose it) on Richie at some point today. That didn't look good at all on the replay. (and it's a guess---I am not a doctor)

RE: Trayvon Rudolph is our best receiver
Richie is still the go to guy in big moments. Rudolph is the go to deep guy. I’m not sure Rudolph makes that toe tap catch Richie made. And with Rockys accuracy issue you need Richie turning incompletions into catches. Rudolph is awesome. Richie is money.

His lack of playing time early never made sense. He was their 2nd best player on offense last year.

He has the makings of a future MAC offensive player of the year.

Some of the catches he made against Kent were amazing and catches that few receivers at any level could make. I can easily live with the few drops that he had in a game where he had over 300 yards receiving and set a school record.
I know that one of them was a key drop but he also made some amazing catches and had some impressive yards after his catches. NIU would have been embarrassed in that game without him. With him we had a chance to win the game in the final minutes.

Exactly. He made a lot of big time catches in clutch situations. He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
