That's about the only way C-USA's geography could be more F'd up than it is now.

So AAC might have some members with actual balls and would invite some legit competition

Ill give ya a tip. Dont assume fear. Nobody is afraid of a Division 2 team. Yes, you are successful but nobody at this level cares.

Its like when you see High Schoolers talking crap and acting big. You get away with it cause its High School (division 2) but when that High Schooler leaves and goes to college (FBS), they all quickly find out that nobody gives a bucket of piss that you were the prom king. Nobody.

A better way to go at this is to understand them and not assume. Its been reported that the MWC tv partners were not willing to increase the contract before their new deal in 2025.

Your best bet is the MWC. If you have to accept something like CUSA as a football only until they invite you, then thats what you need to do but honestly, I am not certain they would add you.... its a long flight for everyone involved and only truly benefits NDSU.

When was the last time NDSU lost a game against an FBS team?

I'll wait...

Seriously. They probably have more P5 pelts than 90% of this conference since its inception.

Probably, but they rarely plan FBS teams anymore - it's been since 2016. I think NDSU is in the rare air of being able to make as much revenue off a home game against another FCS opponent than to plan a buy game against FBS. And, most P5s would rather schedule a crappy FBS team instead.

Meh, NDSU lost their huge previous advantage when the transfer rules changed. Now they are just another FCS team. Should call the Belt for a reunion tour.

Winning a game here and there against FBS teams is WAY different than playing them each and ever week. I’ve also seen the list of teams and the teams records. You have to admit they haven’t exactly been beating the top or even the higher end of FBS.

If they were to move up, they would compete but the MWC isn’t afraid of them and that’s what I was replying to.

Hey, I know a guy whose brother's girlfriend knows a girl that knows The Guy, and he says that if I was a NDSU fan, I would simply ask - how many games has your own team won over FBS teams in the last two years? He says the answer might surprise you.

Maybe if they had an additional direction in the name or changed to U of Fargo. Too much of a state flagship vibe for the AAC.

Is there room in the AAC for a Football-Only Invite ? (or all sports, F it)

NDSU is 144-11 in last 155, 8 Natl titles
NDSU has 2 Top 3 NFL draft picks in 5 years
NDSU has 11 current NFL players
NDSU has had ESPN Gameday 3 times in 7 years.
NDSU has $30 million budget, 19,000 sell out crowds (pre covid)

Lets GO! its a plane fight to Fargo every 2 years (and we can play Neutral Site games in Minneapolis Minnesota)

If it were up to me, I would welcome NDSU in with open arms. The AAC will need another strong football program, especially if SMU joins the Big 12.

Big 12 officials have made several statements indicating that they plan to expand to 16 teams, and that the top 4 schools on their list are Memphis, SMU, USF, and Boise St.

AAC West (if/when SMU joins the Big 12):

Navy - inconsistent, "up and down"
Rice - weak
Tulane - mediocre
Tulsa - mediocre
UNT - mediocre
UTSA - strong in 2021; otherwise, mediocre

With NDSU:

AAC West (if/when SMU joins the Big 12):

Navy - inconsistent, "up and down"
NDSU - The nation's #1 FCS program; could be "the next Boise State"
Rice - weak
Tulane - mediocre
Tulsa - mediocre
UNT - mediocre
UTSA - strong in 2021; otherwise, mediocre

RE: NDSU to AAC? Got any room?
Hmmmmm...
Milwaukee/JamesTKirk/jedclampett is making some points.

So I'll say that NDSU should get in touch with the conference office:
(401) 272-9108

If it goes to voice mail, keep trying.
Letters work, or heck, just go up in person:

15 Park Row W
Providence, RI 02903

No really, keep calling and writing and visiting there.

You’re absolutely right. To be honest, you’re selling yourself short. All caps donors, 19k person sellouts, about a million championships, several ESPN gamedays. I don’t know why you’re wasting your time on G5 boards. The PAC needs you to rebuild their football reputation. If they say any differently, it’s just because they haven’t realized you’re their savior for their next TV contract. Or maybe try the B1G. Any B1G fans who disapprove are just Pennsylvanians, Ohioans, or Michiganders who know NDSU is the final missing piece needed to bring about dominance among the northern plains state schools. UM, MSU, tOSU, PSU knows that a NDSU, Minnesota, Wisky trifecta would become the new Bama, UGA, UF. Aim high NDSU. The only thing holding you back from upper P5 is not accepting that you’re upper P5.

I'd wait for the Pac 12 to self-destruct and need additions. No need to go to CUSA. You can probably apply at any time.

The Pac-12 would raid the entire MWC before inviting NDSU
