Anyone know how to reach someone that does the RED / BLACK chant? I don't know if they did it before but I was talking to some fellow alum and we think it would be cool if one side started with a chant "N!" then the other side chant "I!" and then both sides together with a long low "UUUUUUUU!" Whenever we get a full crowd it would sound epic...

I like the idea, but let’s not get whoever does the red/black chant involved. They can’t seem to get that right to begin with..

Very nice! Gonna have to get creative to make this happen. Red/Black is less complicated yet seemingly impossible these days as it is.

We need a completely revamped opening with music as the team enters the field as well. I really liked the boneyard victory video during the Wyoming game to ACDCs Give the dog a bone.

Red black used to work pretty good a few years back....Hopefully, we can get more energetic cheerleaders with the signs and the video boards to help out the chants. Bigger crowds help as well. Definitely revamping the opening and getting new energy to the games would be great.

Are those cheer club members or part of the flag unit with the Silverettes, who are now attached to the band? I thought I saw them with the NIU red/white/black flag-waving unit. In any case, the red-black used to be a no-brainer with just two elements. Are you sure you can get them to work with three letters?

Whatever. Great idea to revive/establish a tradition.

I love the idea that there is a person (or people...possibly a committee?...who are someone other than the cheerleaders, I'm assuming) who are in charge of the Red/Black chant and, if they exist, have some form of contact, phone or possibly email, where one could talk to them about implementing a new stadium chant.

I wonder what such a position would be called?
