A-Sun or Big South? Maybe Sun Belt?

The Sunbelt. Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Georgia State all have soccer in other conferences.

All of those together is 6. I wouldn't doubt that S Carolina and Kentucky also go to the Sunbelt.

CUSA Men's soccer has Kentucky and South Carolina. If they stay there, I'd be okay with that. If not, go wherever they go maybe.

It could happen. Sam Houston and Jacksonville State both do not have soccer. Neither does LA Tech or Utep.
Only FIU, New Mexico State, and Liberty have soccer and West Virginia is scheduled to join in 2022.
If Kentucky and S Carolina stay, then there is 6 and UCF could be 7 but honestly, why wouldnt yall go to the Sunbelt. Much better.

Kentucky, WVU, and FIU all have good men's soccer programs. Even the scrapyard of CUSA that is left with those schools would be a better soccer conference than the Sun Belt.

Sun Belt is re-sponsoring soccer. Marshall, ODU and JMU go there.

Big 12 doesn't sponsor it so UCF could stay in AAC, go to Sun Belt or CUSA.

Would like to see AAC get Kentucky, S Carolina and W Virginia to join for soccer.

I would like seeing UCF and WV in the same soccer league.

Assuming CUSA survives, WVU is scheduled to start playing men's soccer there in 2022. I would assume that would also be our pick for Men's soccer. Or maybe try to stay in the AAC.

RE: Lets talk SOCCER - UCF
My original thought was the following options:

AAC: UCF is already here
C-USA: is solid at the moment
SBC: has considered sponsoring Soccer, no idea when it would start... 2023?
A-Sun: reginal conference
ACC: not sure they are looking for new members

Drop men's soccer and add men's track and field, if that is possible with Title IX.

Even if those affiliates stayed the Sun Belt would be superior but in all likelihood WVU, SC & Kentucky would move to the SB as well.

WVU
Marshall
Kentucky
JMU
ODU
CCU
USCe
GS
GSU

That’s a strong league and good footprint.

Q. Why would AAC do a favor to UCF and let them keep one sport in the conference despite leaving for “all sports”? (Didn’t let UConn do that for football)

A. Because UCF men’s soccer is competitive.

Personally, I don't care about soccer, but it is an important sport with high youth participation. The AAC should aggressively pursue KY, SC and WVU to join as affiliate members. Keep UCF in the fold too if they are a good team. For the same reason Aresco took the TX schools, take these schools to keep the Belt in its place. Offer Marshall a spot as an affiliate. I don't care what they say on the message boards, they would wet themselves at the chance to get a foot in the door here.

Wut?

Marshall can’t play in the AAC if the Sun Belt sponsors soccer.

Why would the CUSA affiliates choose a weaker league and worse travel?

Nobody’s clamoring to be an affiliate member of the AAC.
