I’ve tuned in and out - what’s the story on Ray? Have they said?

I could find nothing, but I have, also, not spotted him on the bench. He must be hurt.

Pretty sure the 3pt shot 4' behind the line wasn't the shot the Hofstra coaches wanted

Hofstra offense fell apart with the defense of Houston extending out beyond the arc. OT does not look good for them at all.

Hofstra just froze up, with Houston's pressure. OT.....

Brutal opening night for the Colonial with only victories over an American East team and a team from D-3. Hofstra win would have been huge but they choked at the end of regulation. Meanwhile over in the SoCon, they had wins over an ACC team and a MAC team by two of their preseason cellar dwellers. Still think the CAA is better than the SoCon?

No one ever said the CAA was a better rated basketball conference than the SoCon. It's been the case for the last few years. Do I think the CAA as currently constructed is a better fit for W&M? Absolutely.

A poor night for the CAA, but let's not get carried away with the Southern, either. Pitt, already picked to finish last in the ACC, lost it's two leading scorers from last season to injury, and were down two other starters, including Delaware transfer, Ithiel Horton, who is under suspension for assaulting a police officer. They are very bad, and nowhere near ACC caliber. Four of the Southern's other wins tonight were against non-D1 opponents.

American won in OT at home against Marist. We need to show Friday night that we can comfortably protect our home court and win games we should be able to win.

Navy with a big, opening win at #25 UVA, 66-58. They remind me of a well coached Davidson team who plays hard for 40 minutes, and will be a very tough game in Annapolis.

Not as hard to do when all 14 games were home games for them against mid-majors. They definitely set themselves up to succeed as a conference, then execute.

This did not age well in a few hours.

The A-10 on the whole seems to intentionally schedule in ways to boost their RPI/NET ratings, I wonder if it's something the conference actively discusses

Well, at least Pitt played the game despite so many starters being out. I wonder if ex-Blue Hen Horton got in the coach's ear and advised him to cancel the game because there weren't enough players.

When was CAA’s last signature OOC win?

Hofstra played well for 35ish minutes, no doubt. I still dont think Hofstra is a top tier team. Obviously the better they are the better the league is, like anyone else. Not a good night for the CAA against decent/good competition

Didn’t Hofstra smoke UCLA a couple years ago and they beat a top 25 Richmond last year.
