MACtion Tonight
MACtion starts tonight with three games-
Ball State @ Akron
EMU vs Toledo
Miami @ Ohio
From our perspective, Go Akron! while the other two games are somewhat non-issues as we look to win the MAC West.

If you have to pick, Go Ohio! Since at some point the tie-breakers go to crossover opponents strength, Toledo plays Ohio and Ball St plays Miami, since NIU has beaten Toledo and holds the tie-breaker head-to-head over them, root against Miami because NIU currently holds no such advantage over Ball St.

RE: MACtion Tonight
WMU and Ball are the biggest threats. With all those 2 loss teams if NIU ends up in any tie I’d bet it will be a 3-way tie. Worst (realistic) case is we lose to Ball AND WMU. Then we want Toledo or EMU tied with us at two losses along with either Ball or WMU. For now anyway-root against Ball and WMU.

RE: MACtion Tonight
They brought up MACtion on PTI this evening and Wilbon asked Kornheiser if he would be watching and he said no he will be watching the World Series.
I won't be watching the WS but I'm excited for MAC football.

I say this and absolutely mean no disrespect in it because...to each their own.
With that said, I am dumbfounded every time I find out someone voluntarily watches something other than a live sporting event on ESPN.

Not everyone eats and breathes sports. I watch all Huskie games, a few Bears games (if I have nothing else to do), and maybe a White Sox game here and there. I have zero interest in most sports teams and have no interest in watching their games.
I even watch the Huskie games I go to (recorded).

I may not be understanding your comment or we aren't eye to eye on mine either. What I was saying was (imo) ESPN's non-live sporting event programing (ie, PTI, Around the Horn, Highly Questionable, even Sports Center) are all garbage.
But, people watch them. I don't think many people do, but I run across people from time to time who bring them up and I'm always like..."huh? You watch that?"
Again, I'm not trying to criticize (although, I'm fully aware it is probably coming off that way) as I'd never tell someone not to watch what they like to watch.
I don't get the hot takes or fake debates.
I just don't get it.

RE: MACtion Tonight
I'm going back and forth between the Turd/EMU game and Miami/OH game. Neither game is showing any defense. I will admit one thing, it seems like MAC games move faster than other Div. 1 games.
This up-tempo pace reminds me of WhiskeyD*ck( Whatever happened to that guy) always talking about the "The MAC brand of football". Like the MAC teams plays different style of football than the rest of America.
It would crack me up when people on the board would tell him that the MAC brand of football is the same as other conferences, they play football. But ol' WD would keep on preaching about that "MAC brand of football".

I'll pound sand as soon as you give me a reason why I should. Nothing in my post was critical of anybody,.In fact I was agreeing with him that the up tempo game was a MAC brand. Calm down.
