Good for them if so. Six FBS teams in Alabama is probably two too many, but I remember the same being said when it was four teams.

This means P5 will be breaking off from NCAA next summer.

Only bad thing is our exit fee will trickle down to them... I was hoping CUSA would just dissolve so there would be zero exit fees.
Some folks are saying it would be around $33 million in exit fees (with all the departures) that new and leftover CUSA can spread about.

Check and see how much Memphis and Cincy paid when they left C-USA and went to the AAC. C-USA would forgive our exit fee in a second if we gave JSU a home game.

I wouldn’t hate a FBS version of JSU home/home. I’d rather play them than Troy or South. Jacksonville fans would probably travel better too

Well we should have no trouble scheduling nice, regional games in non-conference play.

No reason this game shouldn't be played 4 times a decade.

LSU was 20 years ago. Miss State was about 15 years ago. Jax has done all that in the last 5.

Would love to be able to finagle this announcement into some nice non-con basketball games. Pitching NMSU to come play Thursday in Bham since they open conf play at Jax on Saturday could be a good opportunity (though extremely rare I realize).

But love the idea of another FBS team closer to home than Troy & South. I'll definitely make the trip out there sometime.

The days of UAB sneaking up on teams are over. Whether its SEC, or ACC, or any conference at this point UAB is a known quantity.

So they don't count? BTW JSU beat Ole Piss in 2010. Not in the last five years.

JSU is best known for its wins over Powerhouse FBS programs Georgia State and Florida International University.
