Serious question…. Is it true that Tx State doesn’t really bother recruiting and/or doesn’t have much of a recruiting budget, but instead rely primarily on the transfer portal? If so, this is something that needs to be corrected or forced to be corrected.

unfortunately you dont find many good OL transfers. will have to find them as HS recruits and need few years to develop..

trust me, GSU knows about god awful OL play under Trent Miles from 2013-2016. you cant run, you can't protect your QB, you can't control the clock, you can't really do anything despite having talents in other places. Shawn Elliott, despite his shortcomings, OL is the one area he can roll up his sleeves and teach..at least we can run the dang ball now.

This is the first season we’ve relied this heavily on the transfer portal, so NO, we don’t rely on it primarily for recruiting…..

Reason for this season is twofold: The previous HC burned a lot of bridges with the area H.S. Coaches . .

. . and I think our current HC was hoping it would give us an immediate uptick in FBS ready talent . . .
