The only reason I root for most SBC teams out of conference is because it ultimately benefits Coastal.

But frankly, I couldn’t possibly care less about anything else related to any school in this conference. I’m a Coastal fan. I have no loyalty to anyone but Coastal, and it’s ridiculous to expect some sort of weird “allegiance” to anyone else.

If App State and LL decided to fold up shop and quit their athletics program tomorrow, I’d shrug my shoulders and say “oh well.”

And for the record, I don’t expect anyone in the SBC to give a crap about Coastal other than to the extent that it helps the school you root for.

It’s lunacy to expect otherwise.

May sound harsh, but that’s pretty much fact. These other fans say they’re glad to have us, it’s good for the SBC, etc etc. but all you’ve got to do is click on any one of our gameday threads- like this one here- to see how much contempt and jealousy App and ULL fans have for us. Even fans of (those not ALL fans of) Troy, Ark State, and Ga Southern jump in n the hate. We’ve not done anything to any of these fan bases. The only fans I’ve found to be happy for us or at least neutral, are the ones from ULM, USA, Tx State, etc.

So yeah, we can play pretend, but it’s every team for themselves, and most of these other programs would cut our throats in a second if it would help them.

I’ll say though, I fully intend to pull Marshall when they’re not playing us. In my real world experience, WV people are some of the coolest people in this country and until I have a bad experience with a Marshall fan, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

To claim it's one-sided is naïve. It always takes two and man with JMU, Marshall, and ODU coming on board this place is going to be entertaining. The western division teams are going to look like angels compared to the spats from the eastern teams.

Apologies to Troy, you guys looked like the better team at times, but your coach didn't give you a chance to prove it down the stretch. Your line play was better than CCU's but they had too many skill guys and clearly the better coaching staff.

This was marked as smack? I assume by the most sensitive of CCU fans aka team victim. Sad.
