Now that the BOV has voted for the move. It is now time to discuss whether or not to move the JMU message board from the CAA to the SunBelt.

There are two options. The first option is to move it under the SunBelt banner immediately once the announcement is made official.

The second option is to keep the JMU message board under the CAA banner until the move to the SunBelt is complete.

This vote will stay up and stickied at the top until after the move is made official with a press conference.

Will everything move to the new board or do we start all over again?

Everything will move. nothing will be affected. It's just a matter of moving the location only.

I'm all on board for moving to the SBC. Can't wait to see what opportunities that opens up for JMU. I won't look back at the CAA when it's time to go, but I'm going to vote to stay put until we are actually SBC.

Once JMU officially announces, everyone will start associating JMU with SBC, and look for us there. No value staying here another year or more IMO.

I also hope JMU will look for an opportunity to move sooner than July 2023. We could end up with some sports moving sooner than others.

Personally, I see it both ways and am neutral on the subject. The same courtesy has been extended to USM and ODU. Both boards elected to stay within their current conference banners until the move is complete.

Staying here is of course familiar and we are still playing CAA teams.

Going may create some confusion at the beginning, but that will happen anyway once the move is complete. However, it will also create excitement and will be our future home.

If there were other CAA fans here beside Jeff we interacted with I'd be fine with staying, but think of how primed our rivalries will be after 2 years of smack talk on the SBC boards!

We're still in the CAA until we're not. Come on, it's obvious; wait until we actually move.

I gave my vote to moving once it's officially. I agree with the point about getting on brand sooner than later. Everyone here knows how to find us. Any new interest is going to go directly to the SBC. May as well get with it and start the snowball going down hill.

Since the CAA forum is a cemetery anyway, I’d say let’s move once the announcement is made. SBC teams are pretty active on that board and it’ll be fun to have our board reside there.

Agreed. It'd be one thing if we were conversing with a bunch of other CAA fans, but since it's just us anyways, might as well move over.

Move to board to the SBC when JMU moves to the SBC. Common sense.

I never venture outside the JMU boards and have ours bookmarked, so other than a couple breadcrumbs...makes no difference to me.

Move to the SBC now. Why not become acquainted with our future brethren? Besides, I am sick of the CAA and tired of them looking down their snouts at us and taking every opportunity to take a steaming dump on us! F**k the CAA!

This feels like "hang on to the old" vs "move on with the new" debate to me. Time to meet our new SBC rivals and get it on.
