I am glad to see all four teams come aboard!

Like Chiefsfan said we have a few that won’t be happy regardless. I think most are more than pleased with the SBC expansion. USM is great for the west and with the 3 adds in the east we get Troy back in the west. Makes for decent travel for teams and fans. Marshall is more of a name and most Astate fans see them much like USM…a school with a good history. JMU & ODU are just not known as well but from what I’ve seen I think both have many positives and will solidify the east travel issues. I think it’s win for all. Besides it could have been the SBC getting picked apart by the AAC & CUSA so I’m ecstatic when you look at it that way!

Yeah, our board often hates everything. But to refute a couple things early on, at an administration level, we didn't oppose expansion in general. We had concerns about diluting conference disbursements with 14 teams. Once ESPN came back with more money, we were sold.

Kelly Damphousse is the President of the Sun Belt, he was hardly opposed to expansion.

Yeah we’ve got fans pissed we are playing the Razorbacks in Little Rock instead of home and home.

Biggest beefs I’ve heard have been about ODU because our fans don’t know ODU and then the usual reflexive opposition to taking an FCS.

I was leery of 14 because it means fewer crossover games but once I looked into ODU, I was ready to roll with it.

Loving the love for Southern Miss from the Sunbelt. Feelings are mutual.

It is refreshing compared to other conferences and fans that pump their egos by denigrating us. We have a storied tradition in college football and what has been done to us, by the powers that be, is sad.

Good to read all the positive comments. Never could understand the rationale of those who had an issue with an equal number of schools in the east as there are in the west.

If we had added two there still would have been an equal number.
Boone to Troy is 480 miles, not exactly a huge burden given Troy to Jonesboro is 450 mile
AState to UL is 505 and TXST is 670.

Claiming 12 would have burdened you is hilarious.
