Very true. Needs to use this as motivation and reverse our trend line. Not sure of the last time two CAA teams were picked ahead of us.

I must admit I'm not in tune with what the other teams are bringing back or new players, but I expected us to be pre-season#1 based on the quality of the players we return. I know we bring back a ton. Perhaps that can be used for motivation.

Kiki was named First Team All-Conference. Peyton was Second Team.

Peyton would of likely of been first team if not for last years injury. (IMHO)

WBB starts their season tomorrow - Monday, November 1 - with an exhibition game against Shepherd. Free general admission for all so it's a chance to see the team for free! I hope they can get a good crowd. See you there!

We are! It's spousal unit's birthday and this is a nice way to celebrate it. Exhibition games make me nervous though, remembering what happened to Kayla in the one just a few years ago. Reading another WBB board, it seems there have been a lot of pre-season injuries. Let's hope our ladies come through unscathed.

I will be there. Hoping to sit in my regular season seat to get the sight line but if that doesn't work, any seat will do.

O to P,
Were you able to get decent season tix this year? I know with the new arena seating, your view and location were going to different. Hope it worked out ok.

I hope they're good. I guess we should try them out tonight to see. I kind of think the whole new seating thing stinks, but we'll see.

Wife wanted better seats in the AUBC so we got seats behind the JMU bench most of the way up the lower bowl. So I won't be hanging with the tubas this season but will still be movin and groovin with the Pep band!!

Does not appear so on the schedule.

https://jmusports.com/sports/womens-basketball/schedule

JMU in prior years still had madi-zone broadcasts on non flow games. That might not be the case anymore. I don't recall exhibition ever being streamed in the past, but perhaps that is not correct.

RE: 2021-22 WBB Thread
Kiki was looking good until she tweaked her knee; hope it is not serious. Neff and Ouderkirk have picked up where they left off and are improved, especially Neff. I thought both Maddie and Carodine looked solid and Hazell looked amazing. Of the newer kids, Goodman was shaky in the first half but picked it up in the second and looked much better. Bailey Williams showed some good moves and Sherese Pittman looked like she will be very nice addition--her passing was solid and she seems to have a pretty good sense of where the ball is. I am concerned about Peyton though. She didn't dress and still doesn't look like she's walking well. Oguich and Tynes also did not play.

RE: 2021-22 WBB Thread
O to P gave a great synopsis of the team's performance. I was holding my breath when Kiki went down and I sure hope she is okay.

This was the first time I had been in the AUBC for an event and I have mixed emotions. I really like the video board in the center of the court but hopefully they can put the correct replays on it - several times they showed a play or two before the one that had just happened. It also took pretty much the entire first quarter for someone to get the corner scoreboards working with any other information than the raw score. I chalk it up to inexperience with working with the technology that hopefully will be worked out by Tuesday night.

It seems very tinny and echo-y to me. I sit in the section behind the bench and it was difficult to understand the announcers, especially when there was music in the background. I found the advertising lights that change all the time to be distracting and it seemed to impact the players at times as well, especially when shooting free throws.

All in all a fun evening and it was nice to finally see the women play in person after more than a year. I'm looking forward to a fun season!

I really like what Neff brought last year once she was finally eligible to play. Sounds like we have a pretty solid core and rotation. I don't know if the team can go 10-11 deep, but having a solid rotation of 8 is good. Hope Kiki and Peyton are fine.
