We were there well into HW Bush’s term. We actually won a National Title as a Sun Belt member, that was during the Reagan administration.

USM is carrying that. That is one thing I learned about them when joining CUSA. Many of their fans consider baseball as their #2 favorite sport, in some cases the #1 sport. They have a great atmosphere for their baseball games.

Our schedules are NOT pretty. It’s harder than ever to create a schedule. In an effort to get home games, we’ve all scheduled some low division schools. I think basketball can be fixed, but our priority has been to become better in football first. I would think basketball is next in line for an overhaul, but it will cost more money. We needed good programs to join us to help put our foots to the fire.

They are public and there is a VSU, it's an HBCU near Petersburg.

With every MEAC team to move out, I keep waiting to here Virginia State will be joining the MEAC from D2 CIAA, but it never seems to happen. Nor should it, for the good of VSU.
