Yeah I guess inverting the Black & Gold for Southern Miss will be "okay", but I think the Sun Belt prefers a darker color on bottom versus the top for consistency purposes. But I agree with you on the others though...this is what I did previously...

Some ODU fans have been using Hudson Blue for the secondary color in our SB logo and I think it looks really good

I did that one, and all three of the colors are the three NCAA approved colors.

I like the Red Wolf > stAte.

I think I like the Red Wolf logo more than the stAte logo these days.

The stAte logo will always win.

Green and White to me doesn't look as good, plus I would think the Sunbelt has pre-approved guidelines for how their logo can be presented.

Sun Belt team logos have a primary variant where they all have a white fill/outline to them, then they have a version that's more filled in. It's just a standard template.

I prefer the StAte Logo, the uppercase A is very clever. Both logos are great though.

Why do we only get three options?? The above seems perfectly plausible.
