Since we'll travel to Southern Miss and Troy on alternating years, those will definitely be regular destinations. Band has also traveled to Tulane, Georgia State and UAB in past 10 years.

My favorite Sunbelt band to watch is Troy, can't wait to hear them this year.
Our Marching Band gets better every year, but ours started since we started football. I'm wondering if we ever took our band to Lafayette or Monroe being it is only a 4 hour drive. I do remember coming back to Mobile after one of those games behind buses and it wasn't football players. Did we take them to one of the times we played at Miss State?

Also the MRD's 50th anniversary.
The band isn't usually that large. Usually around 400.
Honestly, I doubt they will march all 540. I'm sure there will be quite a few alternates. I would take a guess and say they will probably march around 500, which is still a lot more than usual.

The band and color guard haven’t been as small as 400 in over 2 decades. A more typical number is in the range of 450-485. Over 500 (if that’s what the 2022 number is) will be near a record which was about 505.
540 would/will be the largest ever for JMU. The previous high was 535 in 2018 when they marched in the Macys parade.

Unfortunately, based on the schedule they put out, they are not traveling to any away games this year.

Meh.

I think I was more shocked by Boston Crusaders making a run and tying for second. Heck of a season for them. With a very PR-esque show.

I hated Boston's show this year. I'm a Crown man myself.

That's unfortunate, I would've guessed at least some amount of MRD's to ODUh.

It was very artsy, music-focused - but with pretty solid drill. Very Early 2010s Phantom Regiment. But surprising because BAC typically sits around 8-10 each year. So coming in second was big.

I typically like SCV and Cadets shows.

Thanks for the feedback! I knew there was a “5” and another “5” involved in that previous record number! 03-lmfao

I’m surprised there are that many uniforms to assign. 540 is huge!

Boston Crusaders for me! I marched with the Alabama Charioteers in the 70's and helped start Southwind and was the guard instructor for 3 years.

Wow! My good friend and HS director played mellophone bugle in the Charioteers and I was first contra for '91 Southwind. I remember Crown being our rivals back then, they got close that season, but never beat us. Now they're top 5 and Southwind has been rebuilt twice and is in Open Class.
