Media Deal Question
Do we really think it’s about 2 million with increased linear exposure?

If so, this is an absolute grand slam home run for everyone involved.

If the numbers are true, it means ESPN orchestrated this to kind of be the college towns vs. the city schools for G5 supremacy. We already had the ability to at least make a claim to the high ground, but if money and exposure for all new teams is relatively equal, we REALLY have built something awesome in this incredibly difficult climate.

ESPN no longer has the MW, so they can push us.

I have my doubts about the numbers and exposure, but wow if true. In all honestly, I don’t even care if they up the payment if exposure increases.

I assume a syndication deal to CBS like ESPN did for the Mac and AAC in the past is a non-starter now?

RE: Media Deal Question
I hope the numbers are true. Look at the ratings this year for Marshall at App. They pay P5s countless more. In the end 2 feels nice but could be more when you know SJSU is pulling 5 in the MWC. ESPN is shoring up conferences for ESPN+ though. Making sure they get more subscribers and also giving more exposure on national tv.

RE: Media Deal Question
So is that $2M an annual payment to each school? Like would we all get $2M a year from ESPN?

It’s the rumor. Plus more actual games. I’m still doubting it. Would be basically what the new AAC teams got.

If this is the case, we really need to trade ECU for GaSt.

It’s what the NEW AAC members get. The old members’ payout doesn’t change.

The only that happens is if ESPN pays their AAC exit fee but still pays them $7M a year on a sweetheart deal plus they still get a share of their cut from the others exit fees. Which I those things won’t happen.

Nah. Ga St is about to be a soccer power....plus ECU made their bed, they can lay in it and have fun playing in their G4 conference.
