If we can at least split the NIU CMU games we give ourselves a chance. Getting swept by the west would make it more difficult to win the east.

Miami ought to win at least 2 of their next 3, so KSU needs to match them to make the game on November 27th a de facto division championship game. Of course, if trailing Miami by a game a KSU win would put them in the championship game. Assuming a win over Akron, KSU should be in great shape for any tie-breaking.

3-1 is very realistic, that makes record 7-5, and a decent bowl game. For all you dreamers out there, how does 8-4 sound and an even better bowl game.

I'm hoping 8-4 and a trip to the Bahamas bowl. I could use a nice vacation.

I was saying last week, win the home games, beat OU & Akron. Although after the Frisco Bowl, knowing the schedule of money games last year and this, I was thinking just get get in a bowl we can win. This schedule sucks and getting in a bowl would be a bit accomplishment.

As for the OU game, when we get the offense going, we're tough. The pass game got us out of trouble after the first Q. (Will those penalties and mental mistakes ever go away?) Also, the defense came up when needed, but secondary needs to be on their guy with good coverage. Can we get a solid kicker next year? I know they are young at that position, but giving an offense the ball between the 40 yard lines won't do us any favor in the post-season.

How on earth is Dix considered worse than Peden Stadium? It was my first time there in a long time and what a dump. $40 for seats that are crooked and 2 bathrooms that look like it was pulled out of the Municipal Stadium.

Let's get real crazy and do 9-4.

If you are referring to one of those click-bait sites about "the worst football stadiums", I must say I think those sites are worthless. I used to click through such sites but rarely do anymore.

Of course, with only 4 games, none have any significant meaning. I just find the stats interesting because the most salient figure is that they are 3-1. It's kind of like the famous 1960 World Series. The Yankees averaged four more runs per game, but the only thing that matters is that the Pirates won the series 4-3.

You amaze me sometimes. I don’t think I’ve ever heard median and mode used in a casual discussion about football statistics. I’m impressed.

After seeing Peden on TV, I will never complain about Dix again.

Burden, a long time ago I had a really, really good statistics instructor at Kent State. It was one of my favorite classes and one that I got the most practical use from.

Hopefully we can get a win. On the Athletic website we dropped from 108 to 109. We really need a few wins to get into the upper 90's

Does it really matter to anyone if we are ranked 108, 109, 98, 84.5, or anything not in the top 50 at least? I know my life will remain stable no matter what a random sports website, paid or free, says.

It's the value of entertainment, dude. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dude?

Great entertainment value in the wins, for sure. Clickbait rankings? Not so much. But enjoy! To each their own.

Frank Ryan! I was such a big fan of his. Seeing that name brings back good memories.

MONEY Bowl games. ? That’s pretty funny only money involved is money draining out of MAC schools that attend these Made for TV events.
Glad to be corrected by someone knowledgeable but my info tells me attending Frisco Bowl cost KSU a ton. Not saying there were no benefits but it’s not a payday by any stretch of imagination.

Big time power 5 bowls create money for conferences to split. When WMU played in Cotton Bowl and NIU in Orange Bowl MAC teams split some money. Frisco Bowl , not so much.

$650,000 isn’t too bad and considering the usual 3 payday/bodybag games they deserve to go as we’ve rarely qualified in the history of our program. Besides, doesn’t the conference pool the money today and subsidize these trips so the teams don’t take a bath on the travel costs and ticket guarantees?
