In what act of this tragi-comedy does the CAA Commissioner make an appearance?

This is big for ODU. Theyll now have true nearby rivals that excite the fan base. JMU, Marshall, App State and Coastal Carolina every year.

Things I didn't know: Sun Belt has a deal with ESPN that pays each school upwards of $300k with increasing payouts over the contract. Exposure and "playing games that matter" aside, that's a big step up for JMU, not sure how different it is for ODU.

For ODU though, $3M fee for leaving CUSA, $2M joining fee for Sun Belt.

Why is Florida divided up? Also why is it filled in with no schools?

Rumor has it the updated ESPN deal will payout $2M per school moving forward (I haven't seen the length of the term, so no idea if that's per year... doubt it, but wow if so). Has been suggested it'll rival the AAC's deal. We'll see if it comes to pass. But would be quite the deal for all involved.

Also, it's been real. Hopefully we can still get a game here and there with you guys.

Congrats to JMU. I think it’s a good spot for you and probably overdue. It’s really the perfect league for JMU.

The bigger winner is ODU. This whole move really bailed them out of a bad spot.
