MAYBE you could pull FIU.

They want us about as much as you do. FIU burned every bridge it could on the way out. Genius move.

To be fair, now that FAU is out of the fold, I think if FIU truly wanted to double or triple up on athletics, that would be great.

We all know your ceiling. That would be awesome for you to hit it.

Would be nice if FIU athletics were to actually give a damn. Our presidents focus is on academics, which I like and is paying big dividends , but damn it would be nice if we could actually throw some money into sports to realize the potential.

Liberty should be invited tonight.

Not only are their teams great an the commitment is there, but the brand "Liberty" fits in CUSA.

Invite Liberty pronto, and go from there.

Conference USA believes it can add James Madison and FBS independent Liberty inside of the next two weeks if details can be worked out, sources tell Dodd. Should C-USA succeed with those additions, it's believed Marshall and Old Dominion would be apt to stay in a nine-team league with C-USA only losing Southern Miss.

So Miss appears to be leaving for the SBC no matter what....which I think everyone expected.

Although I think many of us hope this is what happens but the part I bolded "believes it can add James Madison and FBS independent Liberty" gives me pause. CUSA's ability to do anything is very suspect.

If thats true, Im pulling for cusa to get JM and Lib in the conference. No since in watering down SBC with ODU and JM.

It should not matter if they do, but I will still bite - HOW?

Liberty is nothing like any school currently in the C-USA.

I mean, ODU football are right about at the same level as Southern Miss. I love Southern Miss, but c'mon.

ODU also offers strong basketball.

Yep. Rosenberg has been doing a good job on that end. Athletics has been getting screwed over for years under his watch though. When they chose to build the Student Academic Center at the front of campus as opposed to building attached to the stadium, as originally proposed, as a facility upgrade it told me all I needed to know about their intentions. I have no idea how Pete is still employed and that’s on Rosenberg too - he should have been gone at least 5 years ago. And Butch should’ve been fired after FAU handed him yet another 30pt beating.

I think Marshall and tied at the hip personally.

Seems like we tried to include them and ODU with us to join the Sun Belt, and the Belt said no.

So we probably wna to align with WKU and ODU. Which is smart IMHO

The remaining CUSA should stay together, collect the exit fees, and then fire McClown. Then get to inviting NMSU, Liberty, and JMU.

Absolutely...if Marshall says no, I can't for the life of me believe WKU would say yes at that point..and my guess is if Marshall said no, WKU wouldn't be offered anyway.
