Red Light Camera Ticket
Have any of you ever gotten a red light camera ticket? I have read conflicting reports that it's actually unenforceable and there is no penalty for not paying it $50. But just curious if any of you have had personal experience with it.

I've had three in Millington. I paid the first one and ignored the last two. Their lights turn from orange to red real quick.

RE: Red Light Camera Ticket
I got one years ago at Gtown/64. Came with a real time video of the light changes and car traveling thru the intersection.

Downloaded the TDOT spec manual and discovered the light changes were not calibrated to TDOT specs for posted road speeds (there’s a matrix to determine yellow duration).

Mailed all supporting docs with the ticket and a picture of my middle finger.

Never heard from them again.

I've had three in Millington. I paid the first and tossed the second after watching a youtube video from that guy. I never heard back about the second one after I sent them a response stating that they were in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and at the advice of legal council I would be suing for damages if they continued harassing me about it. I insisted they were violating a couple of my constitutional rights connected to the 6th amendment. Under their system I was unable to confront and cross examine their witness(es) as there were none.

Further, it's not my responsibility to prove I was innocent, it's the courts responsibility to prove my guilt and a grainy photo of my truck running a red-light is not proof that I was operating the vehicle.

The third one has been handled a little differently. They've sent 3 notices so far and I've thrown them all away. I can't imagine receiving a 4th but we'll see.

These camera's are used for the purpose of collecting revenues. Most people will just pay the 50 dollar fine so it's lucrative. However, it's primarily lucrative for the companies that install, maintain and operate the cameras.

RE: Red Light Camera Ticket
I remember the one that used to be in Germantown at Poplar and West Farmington Blvd. I’d get off work from FedEx at 3 am. Driving home I’d always hit it red. Always. And it would turn yellow then red only as I approached every time. Being a young smart ass, one morning i turned around over and over. Running it over and over as no traffic was coming ever. Flipping off the camera each time. I probably ran it 30 times. They never sent me anything. Maybe they got the point when their system generated a bunch of worthless citations with the middle finger in them.

It was obviously set in such a way as to entice you to run it. Purposely slowing traffic down and creating an unsafe environment. In Dallas right now, they have it for right turn red light signals. It’s a sham.
