This loss was downright embarrassing. Congratulations to UL-Monroe for a well deserved victory. Sorry we stunk the place up.

I don't think South stunk it up at all. Your offense is legit. Neither defense really shut anyone down. This was a straight up momentum game. 2 solid mid-pack teams going back and forth until someone came out with the W.

I agree and not to be ugly, but I think ULM was the better team. Looked faster, more physical, and better coached. USA has drastically improved though and I love the direction of both programs for the West. Great game USA and good luck the rest of the year!

No reflection on our opponent, but I am disappointed that the Jags did not play up to their potential.

I think most Jag fans aren’t upset at our offense, but disappointed in how our defense played. That has been the strength of our team and ULM whipped that unit all night. Here are the total yards given up by team:

555 - ULM
399 - Texas State
317 - Bowling Green
283 - Louisiana
297 - Alcorn State
258 - USM
233 - Georgia Southern

Yeah. There was blatant holding on ULM earlier too and it went uncalled. The new members will learn our refs leave a lot to be desired in this conference.

I always complain about the calls I see on the other side but I know it goes both ways. As has been repeated, there's going to be a hold somewhere on pretty much every play. Only the blatant ones are going to get called and sometimes they don't. Would be a drag to have 50 hankies every game so I'm not going to complain too much I guess.

USA QB legit as well as Tolbert. The QB has a beautiful deep ball.

In all fairness, Rich Rod is our OC. Eventually that offense had to pick it up. I thought after Liberty they were about to turn a corner. That being said, South Alabama has a STUD offense. It seriously was a game of momentum. A 5th quarter might've been a completely different outcome. Happy with what it was though.

Not the OP, but I thought that’s what ULM stood for.

An A Hole? I thought UL-Monroe was who you are. And South Alabama has never been UA-Mobile. I have attended both. Have you been drinking?

We prefer ULM, but IMO if we're gonna keep ULL by that name, it's a bit hypocritical to get pissy about people messing up our name.

He transferred?

Yeah. Covid freshman, got just a few snaps, then transferred out after all the coaching turnover last year. Now we have a 4th string walk-on wearing #24 as QB1 and are 1-6. :,)

When Rich Rod calls and you are a dual threat QB, you go.

RE: South Alabama @ ULM
Nice waking up hoarse for a second week in a row. What an exciting game. Bentley is a very dangerous QB and I expect USA to be bowl eligible. Looking at the remainder, probably need to get it in the next 2 games because that finishing 3 will be tough. It appears that Rogers is figuring out the playbook and RichRod is starting to throw a few more things into the game plan. The one thing that we ULM fans haven't seen in YEEEEEAAAARRRS is a coaching staff that not only adjusts at halftime but also makes adjustments during the game. I was real nervous when USA tweaked at halftime and came out running real well. Couple of changes on defense and the game seemed to shift right back to how it had been in the first half. Defense really stepped up there at the end and was actually able to bring pressure without that much blitzing. Got a tough one next week at App State. Hey, App State fans, let your coaches know this was a complete fluke. As a matter of fact, the team should take a couple days off this week as a mid season rest!! 03-lmfao03-lmfao

Agreed. Esp when ULM or ULL is so much easier to type/use. Like I said earlier anyone who goes to the way extra trouble of hyphenating either of the La schools is more than likely just looking for trouble. Surely, by now, everyone understands this.

He didn't hold us back. Nobody else was ready to run a Rich Rod offense. CR is making huge strides game to game but more importantly our OLine is night and day from where we started.

I don't believe Rhett Rodriguez held us back at all. We were 2-1 with him as quarterback. But with Rogers improving as he is we'll probably see Rhett sit out the rest of the year recovering...that lung injury was severe...or he becomes our #2 QB. He still has a great knowledge of the offense. I don't know if he could get a medical redshirt since he only played in 3 games but he comes back next year and would be a great guy to have as backup to Rogers. He wants to be a coach and he's already being a player-coach at ULM.
