UAB is considering leaving because the AAC will double our conference payout, perhaps more, even after losing three teams. Our games will be broadcast on ESPN channels, not Facebook or the NFL channel or whoever else will lease out two tin cans and a length of string cheap. The basketball schedule will get a huge boost, more than likely two teams to the tournament every year, and more tournament credits in the conference income stream.

Basically the same reasons that any other team in this one-lung conference would jump at a chance, except for the ones where basketball is a boat anchor and wouldn't matter either way.
